A typical day at Vitran included a light and easy going shift start meeting with the supervisors identifying quotas for the day, finding and signing out machines, and going to work either doing order picking with a walkie, pallet picking with a Raymond Reach or loading/unloading with a counter balance. The management and staff at Vitran are dedicated, hard workers with good attitudes. The supervisors were down to earth and easy to talk to which created a comfortable work environment that led to better productivity. The staff were always willing to work and lend a hand where needed. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with such a great group of people and driving the machines. The hardest part of the job was being on an afternoon shift. I learned a lot while at Vitran including how to drive the Raymond Reach and the counter balance and that a hard days work leaves me feeling accomplished and happy.

Entry level job not advance technology, still growing company, since it is a third party logistics, they chage vendors frequently.
Learned good team work environment, fun people to work with.
It is hard to say about management since they change managements with market flow and products.
Co- workers are friendly and helpful.
Hardest part is the atmosphere and environment inside, very hot in summer and cold in winter due to open shipping doors and the worst is the dust inside which i am allergic to.
Most enjoyable part is at break time when everyone sits together and someone cracks joke.

Non regular work schedule. Odd and irregular hours.  Job very often requires laying over in out of town locations for minimal pay.  Mileage and hourly rate well below other companies. On the plus side no pickup or delivery to customers. Only linehaul between company terminals. May only get one load per week.

Enjoyed my time here, it was very relax and warm place to work with very nice people around.  Hours were sometimes late nights but we were also given ample sick days. And the teamwork was excellent enough were we could fill in for each other.

Management was very rigid. Work environment not to standard. had to work out of a desk in a warehouse that was constant cold and damp. Management offered no benefits no perks no incentives.

I remember Vitran always had a feeling of family within their workplace culture. It was very uplifting. We always supported each other. It was a place you enjoyed going to every day.

At Vitran every employee was respected and given the opportunity to grow. A great full time job with available extended shifts.

Excellent leadership.  Productive atmosphere, allowed to express ideas and opinions. Good home/work balance. Encouraged to improve skills thru inhouse training.

Enjoyed working with everyone. Free meals were offered on special occasions. Special activities would happen. Well maintained equipment's. They respected everyone's Cultures.
