Working at the car factory has been an exhilarating experience. The fast-paced environment and the constant hum of machinery create a sense of energy and purpose. Assembling cars has been a fascinating task, allowing me to witness the transformation of raw materials into intricate vehicles.

The job requires a keen eye for detail and precision. Each component must be carefully fitted, ensuring the seamless functioning of the final product. The teamwork is commendable, with colleagues working together efficiently to meet production targets.

However, the labor-intensive nature of the job can be physically demanding. Long hours of repetitive tasks can take a toll on the body. Additionally, the factory's conditions, with high noise levels and the smell of industrial chemicals, can be overwhelming at times.

Nonetheless, the satisfaction of seeing a completed car roll off the assembly line is unparalleled. It is a testament to our collective efforts and craftsmanship. Overall, working at the car factory provides a unique blend of challenges and rewards, making it a worthwhile experience.

As a service technician, work was good and shop policies were manageable. The environment was easy going but at times a little cramped due to the size of the shop. Service management was good at the beginning until changes were made (additions to management). After the changes, the work environment became stressful and all work aspects became focused on increasing profit at the expense of work quality. Communication between service advisors was sub-par and only deteriorated after management changes.

- poor scheduling of customers causing unreal expectations in completion time
- poor communication from service advisors to technicians
- expect all technicians to perform overtime when front service/parts will leave exactly on time

Working at Volvo was the most frustrating place I’ve ever worked. You can give your best ideas and work effort and still fall short of what management expects. Very safe place to work as safety does not take a backseat ever. Two tier wage system that is way off where you will make 10 dollars an hour less than the senior guy next to you with that senior employee doing half the amount of work as you do. Management has an incredibly poor way of handling day to day affairs and issues with employees. Overall would NOT recommend working here for the little amount they pay new employees for the workload they demand not worth it.

Fast paced and more stressful than it should be on a day to day basis. Employees are super friendly to one another and always willing to help each other out. Management is toxic and it all trickles down to the regular staff one way or another, plus will go to war with you over a pay increase but seems that mentality is only willing to change once it's already too late and you're walking out the door. Job security is there but at certain point you will feel like you've hit a ceiling and cannot progress any further. Overall a great stepping stone into the automotive industry but that's about all it will be, just a stepping stone. Would recommend to anyone looking for experience.

Start your day off by looking for the keys for your first job, and go from there, next set of keys, next car, repeat.  I learned how to do package detail cleaning so that was awesome.  Management could use some work like the dealership manager, the detail manager is awesome and very personable.  Workplace culture is very solo oriented work.  Hardest part is the wash bays.  Hoping and praying they don't break down or anything else in the place breaks down.  The most enjoyable is the whole detail center.  It's a great work environment and the detail shop is amazing.  I think other companies should follow Volvo's detail center idea as it has such good work conditions.

While I have had many positive experiences with the Volvo Group, the current environment at Volvo Financial Services in Canada is one of dis-function from a management perspective.
While individual teams work well, and do communicate with each other when necessary, there is no Leadership from the current Managing Director, whom actually seems to encourage team management silos, and prefers a "passive-aggressive" management style.  The most enjoyable part of being a member of the VFS team is the people/staff, and their willingness to give a little extra to deliver excellent service to both external & internal customers.

Volvo Trucks is a Global company that leads the trucking in safety and technology.  The Canadian operation is small in numbers but big in heart and dedication to customers.  Advancement opportunity within this region is small to none.

The employees are like minded and have a good sense of camaraderie.  Recent management changes has added challenges to the spirit of the group, but overall they have maintained their cohesiveness.

Salary and benefits are excellent.

Overall, I highly recommend this company as an employer.

It was such a pleasant experience. The work environment was healthy: clean, lot of space, with windows. The team was simply amazing. We all know what our tasks was and did it. We had structure but had flexibility within it.

The hardest part of this job was when I had to create on SAP the organigram of the entire world-wide company. It was a huge company, thus the challenge was present.

I started work at seven in the morning by making sure that my work station was cleaned up and ready for the day such as throwing away garbage and making sure my water buckets were full. if there was no cars to wash I would help out by cleaning the shop, checking in customer cars when they bring them in to get serviced. the hardest part of the job was the physical labour of washing cars by myself when there is twelve mechanics fixing cars. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to drive the cars as well as getting some work experience.
