Decent pay, I get 22 an hour, but increases are minimal to nothing. Typical day includes answering calls and calling out to retailers or technicians, majority of calls are similar but some are really out there so it’s hard to get an idea of what you’ll be doing everyday. Since I wfh, it’s hard to get an idea of the workplace culture, but it feels like any other large corporation, we are working for the company gain not our own. Retail spot trains out of a rubbish building on Pembina instead of the head office, considering our department works all year round they would put us there but no, we get a building with 0 service but are expected to use our personal cellphones.  If you do work at the main office you have to pay parking lol. Our sick time was reduced (Covid hello? Read the room) and instead of being allowed to use vacation time instead of sick time (especially considering covid) we have to take no pay. I’ve only been there a short while so I can’t speak too much on advancement but I have a coworker that has been there 20 years and is still in the same department  and at least 9 people quit or left in under a year, so I doubt they offer promotions to those working in the company already. Also the rational shifts are hard, cannot get a second job as you’ll be going from 7-2:30PM to 9-5:00PM to 2:30 to 10PM (more shifts than this, just an example) and we only get our schedules 3 weeks in advance. 

Most days are spent fixing issues create by uneducated coworkers. Management does not do their jobs, and any decisions are ultimately filtered to and decided by the vice president. The slow moving work environment makes it hard to feel like you have accomplished anything. There is literally no consequent for poor performance or lack of knowledge with co-workers. The hardest part of the job is trying to download tools or research issues when internet is not allowed at workstations. The only enjoyable part of the job is 7 hour work days and job security.

What is the best part of working at the company?
People and the way they cooperate and support each other are incredible! People tend to stay for decades with the company. This results in high levels of competence, real team spirit and long-lasting relationships. Whwnever you have a question, there is someone in your team who knows the answer. This motivates to give back and supports your own growth.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Little room for vertical mobility. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Warm and supporting culture.

I work the nights and the weekends and scary on these shifts too. My health suffers and kids no see me but my pay is same as the Monday to Friday people. I do not like how they do not give tfull time job but ask you to work the full hours. Schedule fluctuations weekly makes hard for finding other job. No premiums for evening and night workers or weekends and should be 3 dollar more for these shifts in bad neighborhood to

Being a professional I know how important making friends at work is in order to secure your position and advance in the company. When  I arrived I made sure I was friendly, kind, and happy to help. It was also genuine. I continued doing this until the present. however, I was told my department was a "boys club". If I were anyone recognized and respected who is a female, I'd be cautious about what department you work in.

Pay is competitive, there's a defined benefits pension and excellent dental and prescription coverage, great vacation allotment, and an okay work/life balance depending on your role. Most roles are hybrid, and many in Alberta are fully remote. Some fairly toxic leadership in certain areas that seems to have had a blind eye turned to it.  Good budget for training, you just need to advocate for yourself.

I applied for a certain job description, yet I'm doing something related but overly simple and was treated like a 'lackie'. I gave them what they needed. The people in my department never include me in their network. They talk over me and answer questions about my job. Any job I'm assigned, they always want to take over my role, they get in the team and take over and disinclude me unless the boss talks to them. And then they go back and do it over again.

Western Canada Lottery Corporation is a great place to work at. The employees are helpful, knowledgeable and understanding. The managers and supervisors are trying to pull the company forward and I feel there is a lot of opportunity in their IT department and the company in general.

To be able to stage bases for VLT's and put them together according to blueprints for each place that allowed VLT's for all of Saskatoon bars and lounges. To be able to do it in a efficient timely manor. To get them together and ready for shipping was great problem solving. Really enjoyed my time with the company.

Gaming industry was new to me , was existed to learn the process.   Work place culture is ok . The hardest part of the job is rotational shifts . Work culture pressure is huge . Can’t grow in short time . No opportunity to grow .
