Been at this company for longer than 5 years. Started as a labourer out of high school and worked my way up into a leadership role. Great environment to learn basics and get your journeyman ticket. Lots of great, helpful people work here. Management are nice people as long as you stay on task and get stuff done. If you are a person who likes a fast paced, get er done , while maintaining quality then this is for you. The hardest part of the job I would say is there are situations where you must work in a bit of unfavourable conditions, I.e a lot of people on the floor so some times you must use a portable welder in the middle of the shop instead of in a designated station with a jib crane. 

The fast pace and relatively average/low pay, among other things, makes this company not worth looking into.   Don't waste your time unless you're desperate.  There are many other options that pay better and treat people better.  

Working hard will only benefit supervisors/family members/old buddies.

One of the owners seems to be a good guy, but the other, who is unfortunately the more vocal one, clearly lacks any basic people skills and respect for shop employees.  Announcing to everyone that wages will be cut and going straight to saying to "go b*tch at home" wasn't something I'd ever expect in a company this size.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?

Like everywhere else basically a deadlines, finishing task on time and a lot of travel Ing to different areas to complete work

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I really enjoyed the culture. I really enjoyed the people there. I really enjoyed the organising and most of all the safety for everybody and safety for one another.

I've worked for WF straight out of high school, My resume has added many different things I never thought I would have, I have a current field position. If you want experience, good pay, lots of hours then this job is for you!!! If you don't like to be a team player then this isn't for you! 

 The field department is a fast environment with many opportunity's to grow your skills and resume. 

Your day to day job is always different, so you never get bored or feel stuck doing the same task! 
  

Working here for more than three years. Feeling like a second home and working with family. Lots of learning and room to grow. Resources are provided to achieve the goals. Very friendly work environment. From manager to coworker, all are helpful. The manager is very knowledgeable and takes care of the team members. Support from supervisor/lead hand is always there and understands the problems of the team members. Individual's skills and expertise are recognized. Year-round company events are full of joy.

If you love building large complex structures this is the place for you  ever changing work projects and a fun environment to be in 

Great group of guys to work with you truly get out what you put in 

Lots of family and employee activities put on by the company year round from family  days to employee bbq and golf tournament also a yearly Christmas party with great prizes 

Highly recommend place to work weather you just starting out or are a experienced journeyman

Just working near your workstation under tasks you  have been assigned to

I was given a verbal warning because I was going to be late 30min for my shift because I was driving my kid to day care. I asked if it was okay first(obviously)  It wasn't a full time thing. It was just one week. Monday - Thursday. Told them I would compensate for those hours I'm missing on the Friday that we were off. Definitely a red flag. They have corporate events for families and employees. But when it comes down to family they're ready to boot you.

Management doesn’t care about the employees. Wages are increased by a small amount when busy then cut below what you started at the second they slow down. All about putting money in their own pockets. When wages were rolled back last time the owners bought pools and new vehicles that were delivered to the shop. What a way to show you staff how you feel about them.

Excellent place to learn about the welding and construction industry with many long term employee's who really know their stuff and are willing to spread their knowledge. Shop supervisors are always eager to advance less experienced employee's and provide ample training. Great mix of projects ranging from easy- moderate difficulty to very intricate structures that are very rewarding to work on.
