Way To Grow Daycare

Working at Way To Grow Daycare has been a very beneficial learning experience for myself. It's a busy place to be with children. Always have something to do, planning, changing diapers, playing games, feeding the children, cleaning up, etc. Management could be worked on at some points. When asked for help at some points help does happen but at others it may take more time for it to happen, which can then cause your whole day or classroom to become dysfunctional and it becomes hard for the staff and children. The hardest part of the job would have to be when we need the help or request for assistance and we feel that its lacking in that part and again our day cannot function properly. The most enjoyable part of the job of course is spending time with the children. Capturing those learning moments and those "ah-hah" moments when the children realize how to do something for the first time and to know that you were apart of that learning experience. Or when you build such a strong relationship with the children and families that the Children even from other classrooms can't wait to see you when your passing through or coming to visit them. Or parents tell you how much their child loves you and how thankful they are that you are their teacher. The children really are the highlight of the work experience.

This place is extremely toxic, management provides no communication to their employees about serious issues, serious occurrences are constantly overlooked, and you are expected to go above and beyond when they can barely get you a day off for appointments. If you call in sick they will try and manipulate you into coming in. Temperatures in the summer are unbearable and reach as high as 90 degrees. Do not support their staff in any form and will bribe you to stay with more pay which is still not an acceptable wage for the cost of living in the area. Supervisors do nothing to help deal with issues which then causes them to get out of control and will have staff turn on each other making it a very stressful and negative work environment. I would not recommend working here if you value your mental health and wish to be treated with respect and care by your employer.

I enjoy working here, I am paid well, I have job benefits, amazing mentors and friendships with colleagues. I would say if you want to work at a place that teaches you and strives for you to advance in your career, than WTG’s the place 

Lack of communication between management to staff resulting in unsafe conditions for children. (Feeding them things they are allergic to because no management has told staff, not giving children medication on time because management hasn’t told staff when/what to administer)
Temps reached 90° in a room and centre still operated with no AC during heat wave. 

I really like this daycare. It is professional and it is the best daycare i have worked at so far in accordance to laws and rules. I very much appreciate that. My current acting supervisor is always available to talk to and for support. The daycare really cares about the kids and always puts them first. I dont make enough money for what i do, like most daycares so i am always looking for something else.

When they are looking to hire you, they are very responsive and friendly until you officially start work and management acts as if you are invisible. They are extremely unprofessional and the work environment is filthy. 

I went to this daycare as a child. The only reason that I went to WTG for my placement was because that the workers always have a great attitude. If they are not in a great attitude they will always show everyone that they are in amazing attitudes. We always had fun and made jokes and laughed! It was just an amazing time to be placed there.

This place is ok for a start in your career. The communication with staff is poor and they change supervisors around like crazy so there is no consistency. Staff turn over is high as well, when staff communicate how they feel they are often ignored. 
The pay is minimum and rarely you get a raise. They are so short staffed that everyone is overworked. No benefits. 

Management claim to he family oriented but are not.  They pay minimum wage and expect the world from employee.  No benefits and no raises.  Expect so much from employee with employees having no information on situation.

Management was changed due to the child care being sold.  My supervisor was flexible with my age group preference, as she noted my strengths and interests.
