The first day I walked in I should have noticed the red flags. It was like I had walked into the romper room. People were yelling amd screaming and laughing.. it didn't seem professional. It was hard to concentrate during the interview because of the sudden outburst from all the employees. I got through the interview but couldnt stop wondering what all the employees were doing, I'm positive it wasn't work. As a driver you are basically left on your own for many issues that come up.  I had 2 routes and the routes were good most days but dispatch doesn't know how to plan a route and will fight with you to leave it the way it is. I was required to perform pick ups before completing all deliveries.  The pick ups were not regular skids, they were irregular shaped and made it almost impossible to deliver all deliveries in a timely manner. I would have to take extra time at some deliveries because of this.....very time consuming but they don't understand or care. I was required to speed 15 kms over the posted speed limit to complete a route and if i didnt complete it in 1 day I would be questioned about it amd told that I meed to complete it. I performed extra work and was promised gift cards as a sign of appreciation.  I didn't receive those gift cards. Dispatch like to outright lie some  of the time. They will disappear when thee is an issue and you end up wasting time because of that. It's like they do it purposely so that they can tell you the next day that you were wrong. They expect you to put your licence in jeopardy to make the delivery. I had to deliver where trucks are prohibited at a few places until I put my foot down. They left me stranded on a few occasions after they promised to Uber me to my vehicle so I could get home for my off time. I was even blamed for a mechanic that failed to repair the truck in 1 day. Somehow they managed to blame me.....hilarious. The only response I received from them when confronting them on mishaps was, "Ive been doing this job for 10 years and i know what im doing."  Well dispatch, just because you've been performing the same job for 10 years doesn't mean.you are good at it. You're probably just complacent and lazy.  In the end after my year there, I realized Wellington wasn't the employer for me. They aren't a trucking company.  They are a freight brokerage company that lease trucks. Also, after I quit many drivers that I kept in touch with told that Wellington told them that I was the problem and hard to work with. All those drivers told them that I was great to work with and helped them out out many times. This is my experience at Wellington amd is 100% the truth.

Great place to work, management is also good to work with

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There really wasn't much stress in this job

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Family oriented, everybody gets along, sometimes dispatch pushes you hard

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
At the beginning of your shift, maybe shunt 1-2 trailers into the dock, grab your trailer run to strathroy or Windsor unload reload and go to strathroy or Ingersoll

I just reached my 5 yr anniversary and normally at this time I get an itch to move on. Not with Wellington. I plan to retire from Wellington. 

There is too much waiting time. The local shunt truck will not help; they feel it is okay to make a driver sit for 6 hours to get unloaded or loaded.
It takes a long time to get paid.  For Example, the work I did on May 13th will not be paid until June 14th !  
They only pay every two weeks.

I came out of retirement of driving to work for this company and I’m sure glad I did. The entire staff are friendly and respectable. They do a lot of events for drivers and not barbecues where the drivers are not there for 

Can't trust management, they will say one thing and do the other.  Some managers are in over there heads. They dont give you support  that you need when its required, you are just brushed off to the side. 

Loved my time at Wellington Motor Freight , great and amazing people to work for and with.

If you put in your time and  effort management will always have your back. 

Wish I only lived closer to still work there 

I love working here. They appreciate your hard work and they show you. They value their employees. Promotion opportunities from within first. Culture is fair and management is wonderful.

Was a great place to be a driver. When created, it was based around being driver oriented. That faded fast. Year after year all that became important was image, awards, expanding as fast as possible, and money. Drivers fell to the wayside
