What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at Western Tractor is the support the company gives to me and my family - looking out for your health, wellbeing and success. They are always going above and beyond, finding things they can improve our lives not only at work but outside of work. Always doing small, unexpected things to say thanks. 
The leadership actually knows your name and your family, that speaks volumes in a world of faceless corporations that you are only a number. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part about working at Western Tractor is the fast-paced environment. The good part for me is this is good stress - I enjoy working in fast-paced environments with variety. That being said we also get downtime too. The company realizes we have veery busy times, being a business with high seasonality and expects us to take some time to recharge during the off season. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is generally collaborative and team-oriented. Most coworkers are supportive and willing to help when needed, which makes day-to-day tasks more manageable. Communication within teams is usually clear, and there’s a strong focus on meeting goals together rather than competing internally.

The culture encourages productivity and accountability, and employees are expected to perform at a high level. It can be fast-paced at times, especially during busy seasons, but that also creates opportunities to learn and grow. Leadership style can vary depending on the department, which can influence your overall experience.

Overall, it’s a professional environment with a focus on results, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Every day is a bit different in my role - I crave variety and would be bored with the same thing every day. Most roles at Western Tractor would have variety to a certain degree.

I have been working here for 24 years, I have enjoyed the time here, I have seen different management in different depts over the years, but it never made me want to leave because of management.  I myself have tried my hand at different job titles, I tried sales and decided that was not for me after two years of testing the waters, and decided I liked being a technician better and decide to focus on that. Western Tractor has great customers that I love being able to help by repairing machines for them in a timely manner. The work place culture is good, and if me or WT has any concerns, they are brought to my attention, or I can easily communicate my concern with my manager. Some of the hard things in my job can be finding technical information on off brand models. The better parts of the job are finding a solution to a large problem or a multi stage problem. Also having multiple repair routes for a customer to choose from. Western Tractor is also understandable that we are all human, and sometimes we need a day off that is unscheduled, and have always had my back. 

I had switched jobs, coming from the On-Highway sector after 13 years. The first thing that I noticed to be the biggest benefit, is the level of committment the management have towards the employees. They truly care about your well being and happiness.  Another thing I really love is the amount of work I receive. I can work my 8 hours or I can work 20 hours, as long as there is work I choose my own hours. That sort of freedom was awesome to see. Everyone here is super smart and hard working, and most importantly are easy to get along with. Especailly coming from a different mechanic world, the assistance and guidance I receive cannot be beat. The hardest part of my job is I am a little guy and eveyrthing I work with is super heavy. The most enjoyable part is being a mechanic at the best company in the world.



I have had nothing but positive experiences during my time at Western Tractor. 

The company clearly cares about its employees and takes steps to create a fun and collaborative working environment. From staff lunches and barbecues to Christmas parties, Management is always present and consistently takes time to connect with staff.

I am also very impressed with the opportunities for training and career advancement. Western Tractor will readily invest in your future and is happy to support any training required for you to succeed in your role. If you are looking for apprenticeship, this is the place to be!

Management is great!  Always looking to improve the culture of the company and truly want to look after both employees and customers. No one is just a number!

Busy times can be stressful but fellow employees and managers strive to do what they can to lessen it

Get to work have a coffee with others. Get at the task at hand. If I need help someone will always step up when asked

Excellent company to work for. Employees are very focused and believe in their work; great support and customer focus. Deeply Rooted in Southern Alberta and company believes in their staff.

Would love to have more time to spend with staff and customers!

I’ve been with Western Tractor for over 20 years. They are a great company were for, a great atmosphere, and culture that helps build each other up. They take care of their employees and they always encourage us to grow in training within the workplace as well as individually. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing. When you come to work because you enjoy it. The little stressful thing that pop up aren’t worth it.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is great within western tractor. Leadership is focused on have a great culture within the workplace.

Great culture at work.  Last week, the managers had an after hours get together with bowling, appetizers and drinks.  It was a great time and I enjoyed getting to know some of my co-workers on a more personal level!  The company goes all out on the Christmas party every year.  We have four locations across Southern Alberta and we all meet in Lethbridge.  The company even provides hotel rooms for those employees that live out of town and free taxi rides for those in town.  Competitive wages and a great benefits plan.  Employees really are the company's #1 asset and management encourages training and personal development for everyone.

I’ve truly enjoyed my time at Western Tractor. It’s a company that values teamwork, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. Management is supportive and approachable, and they make an effort to recognize hard work and dedication. There are great opportunities to build skills, gain experience, and grow within the company.

The work environment is positive and respectful, and everyone takes pride in delivering quality equipment and excellent customer service.
