Working at XA is a wonderful experience. You get to see a lot of events and concerts and really get to be a part of an amazing and wonderful team of guards. The work is casual meaning you get to pick the shifts you wanna work so if you cannot work Weekends or Mondays that is not an issue. However that said because this is casual, During the fall and winter months with the pandemic hours do vary and there isn't always a lot of work so this is best to have as a second job. But if you are friendly, like helping others and like events then is is the perfect job to have. Out of all the jobs I ever had this one is defiantly the best. The Management team and Supervisors are all amazing, super helpful and understanding with plenty of chances to get training certifications and opportunities to learn and grow. 

X.A. is by far the best security company I have ever worked for (And I've worked for a lot of different companies). They care about their guards, and offer a workplace where positive attitudes and professional excellence are prized. The scheduling is handled through an app primarily, where shifts are offered and you as a guard have the choice to accept them or not. There are plenty of shifts available, with times and locations varied enough to suit anyone's schedule. If there are any scheduling issues, our operations manager is on top of it and makes sure that both the guards under their leadership and the clients we work for are taken care of. I can't say enough good things about X.A. If you're on the fence about applying to work for them, or hiring them, go for it. You won't regret it. They're the most professional and caring security company I have ever had the pleasure of working for. Keep up the good work!

Security guard's life is an unpredictable world where anything can happen at anytime of the day or night. 
A typical day at work would be receiving information from the previous security guard and beginning. Writing reports, notifying the site supervisor about anything suspicious or problematic. Doing patrols. Observing, deterring and preventing problems from happening. 
I have learnt that many security guards are under appreciated for what they do. 
Management members vary; some are extremely helpful and amazing and some are completely opposite. 
Work place culture depends on the back grounds of the employees and others. Some generally do not get along and some immediately get along.
The hardest part of the job is facing harassment and racism from some people.
The most enjoyable part is that every day is different which makes the work more interesting as it never gets boring.

I am currently working with XA Security, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. As a Security Guard, I handle important responsibilities such as construction site patrol, report writing, and managing location security. The company provides clear guidance, awesome training programs to enhance my skills, and all the tools I need to perform my job effectively.

The team is professional, supportive, and always available to address any concerns or offer assistance. I truly appreciate the organized work environment and the strong focus on safety, teamwork, and employee development. XA supervisors are very helpful on site. XA has flexible schedules. All the staff members and management team is supportive .

You aren’t feel any stress if you are working with XA. They turned all your stress into happiness.

Team work is the best key XA has. Doesn’t matter how miserable situation happens on site, they help to deal with it together.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
XA has flexible schedule. So I can choose my working hours as per my convenience. This is the best part for me.

I joined the company as event staff, working at Calgary Stampede, not really knowing what I would be doing. They gave me on the spot training, allowing me to try different job positions each day. I have enjoyed working at many different events, the work is always interesting and each day different from the last. I am able to choose which shift I would like to work which allows me the freedom to balance time with my family. I have chosen to continue with the company, taking the course and getting my security license. 

I've been with the company for over 5 years and I like the flexibility, variety of locations and the people I meet from all over the world makes me appreciate having a casual job in the event security world. Where else would you get paid to interact with the public while attending major events like concerts, festivals, sporting events? I do feel appreciated and respected by management and my colleagues. Are you able to say the same with your job?

Love working here that I moved on from 1 of my jobs to work here and get more hours while I still have another one. Can pick what shifts you want, hours, what sites or events to work at, when you want. Complete flexibility for part time work. Pay could be a little higher though. But overall one of the best security firms I've worked for and my Supervisor is very understanding and willing to compromise if a difficult or severe family event or situation should arrive. 

You get to work at a variety of events, which definitely keeps the job interesting and engaging. Varies between venue/sites, but in general the work environment is quite dynamic, sometimes stressful but that's just the nature of the role. Coworkers are very supportive and make the longer shifts bearable and fun. Definitely ideal if you are naturally extroverted and a people person.

Communication from dispatch is clear and fairly transparent.
They also (at least used to) provide ABST training online alongside the licensing exam at a discounted price. 

From day 1 it was exciting to be able to be a part of this company. Everyone I have worked with has been very open and understanding and able to help/teach when you're unsure of something. From boat loads of experience to zero I have never felt out of place. The work opportunities and meeting so many beautiful faces combats the heavy duty work we do each shift. Great experiences and I can honestly say I've had a great time working together each shift learning something new
