Management wants you to support them and the clients at the same time, but you will not get support from them unless you conform to their every idea (some of which are not allowed as i recently found out). There is little to no work-life balance and some pople have to fight for their PTO while others can get it on a whim. I truly loved this job when i started but DO NOT reccomend this company at all. the field is rewarding, but if possible go to a different organization.

The participants, they become like family

Long hours , 12 hour shifts , shift work

It is very rewarding , working with people who need your care

I love my company and I love my job

Most coworkers and clients are absolutely amazing. Management is HORRIBLE, the starting and casual wage should be higher so a decent pool of casuals can be had, this would take stress off permanent employees. Most supervisors are great, but above them? The worst environment imaginable, doesn’t matter how well you do, they don’t care about you 

The job itself is not difficult but dealing with certain supervisors and management is a complete waste of time. They don’t care about the staff or the clients and the union reps are all friends with the people in the office so if you have an issue you have no representation.

Coordinated daily activities for children/ youth with disabilities helping them grow as individuals through the improvement of their skills while encouraging the creation of a better support network for families.

Management is not great, but enjoyed working with the residents, which is something I like doing. They have there favorites for workers and if they want to get rid of you. They will make up stuff to do so.

Very hard job on the mine but so rewarding at the end of your days. Learned so many things and excited to learn more as my time goes on. Happy I’ve taken the job

From working at YACRO I learned how to work with different clients with different disabilities. You learn to work together as a team to make sure the needs of all clients are met.

A great place to work. I started as a front line worker and eventually became a manager. Left to pursue other opportunities. I felt that I was always treated fairly
