The management team was great and it was really easy to talk to upper management and to be heard but the culture of a lot of the workers was not what you would call an inclusive culture. Most were great to work with but there is always a few cowboys when you work in the north and that was really the only downfall. Well, the equipment could be better but it wasn't horrible and they were generally good about getting things fixed.

Depending on your location of work it changes. For the area I was in apprentices are classified as part-time and disposable. Benefits are terrible unless you’re a journeyman. Low hours with low pay. The managers have 0 idea on what happens outside of their offices. Some employees are sons of managers and the only ones taken care of. They also will screw you out of hours towards your apprenticeship. Management got so bad that most good employees have moved on to new jobs.

Company was 'loosely organized' with lousy safety procedures. Management had difficulty enforcing their protocols due to indifference by the long-time union members. This did not make for strong, encouraging, participation by the seasonal staff.

The toughest part of this job was the winter season for the lack of sleep and constant stress experienced by the workers and thus transferred to management.

The most enjoyable aspect was shift change.

My reivew is that this is a good company to work for. They have a great housing program they give workers and their family a  place to live. the pay is good. and the hours are good. the co workers are great to work for. The hardest part is the weather very unpredicable. Great place to work.

Typical days were 10.71 hours working to maintain area roads including winter plowing and sanding.

A good company and management to work with but there was not enough available advancement in my position so after many years in the same position I left to a higher management position

Work was varied enough and never got too boring. The job I was in was hard labour most days, but it was manageable. Management was largely a solid bunch of folks, from what I could tell. Most of the other workers were largely an unsavoury bunch.

Low stress environment, everyone there is super helpful and good to work with. However, the pay rate is pretty low. If it weren't for that then it would be an amazing job and it would be a great job for someone looking to retire.

I would have actually given Zeros .
 Management are bullys and abusive to employees. 
 The Union only wants your dues and ignores Grievance's.
 What more can I say , its a shat place to work. 

Love the job but would love an opportunity to have a career and put the time and energy into a company who recognizes their employees and provides the abilty for an employee to advance.
