Started with communication with dayshift empolyees about startup & any issues. Next wasa schedule/production review & product inventory. Equipment evaluation ( repairs & preventitive action ) and then to interaction with other dep'ts (Product quality & inventory Control). Meetings with management,engineering,quality plus Tooling suppliers usually rounded out the day.
Reviewed schedules with dayshift & afternoonshift prior to leaving.
Learned about different computer programs, management styles & how to deal/evaluate with daily issues concerning co-workers & company expectations.
Hardest part of this job was coaching management & workers to co-exist within a more friendly work enviroment. This company was non-unionized but heading towards being certified.
Enjoyed building the comradary with fellow workers. Being the "go to guy" with reqards to any & all plastic issues within this plant & other "sister" operations.

TRW is an interesting place to work for, I'm new here ( 4 months) and everyday seems to be the same issue. Machines not running like they should, management is pretty dumb. Machines are always having issues that the employees are telling management but aren't being fixed. And the discrimination between old and new employees is pretty severe. Older employees are aloud to call in on forced mandating shifts and not get in trouble and the newer ones get disciplined or fired. If you work here you have to work 6 to 7 days a week. And it's hard to keep employees hired. And the pay is pretty stupid, you're doing the same job as some else but just because they started before you they get double your wage. Like starting wage is 14, and top rate is 30 plus. But you literally are doing the same thing. I just don't get it. I've never been in trouble or even been talked to, but you can just see and feel the uneasiness.

This company is a textbook example of poor management and toxic culture. Favouritism consistently outweighs merit and performance, leaving hardworking employees overlooked and undervalued. Managers play mind games and create an environment where backstabbing is common and trust is nonexistent. Workloads are excessive with no defined roles or processes, and you’re expected to stretch yourself thin without proper support or recognition. HR offers no real help , issues are dismissed or ignored entirely. Payroll is a nightmare; Despite voicing concerns, nothing changes. If you value your mental health, fair compensation, or career growth, steer clear. This place thrives on chaos and burnout. Unless you’re comfortable being overworked, underpaid, and constantly frustrated, you’re better off elsewhere. Talent deserves better than this mess.

I loved TRW while I worked there, the HR generalist was an absolute delight, everyone loved her. I enjoyed working by her side. Although, things we're always extremely hectic, we had so many things to do throughout the day and some of us would have to work over time in order to get things done. The culture wasn't very positive, but it wasn't terrible. 
I learned so many things working at TRW, like how to deal with compensation questions, schedule and conduct interviews for the temporary workforce, I would keep track of attendance on a weekly basis, and also learned the payroll system that was used in order to ensure weekend payroll was conducted and to be done in a timely fashion. 
The hardest part of my job was having to do various things at all once.

A 24-7 operation that required a lot of effort and dedication. Had 3 Maintenance Supervisors and 2 Technicians reporting directely to me. A CMMS maintenance system was introduced during my employment at TRW where it was my assignment to implement and train everyone on the software. It was a success.All 22 trades and Supervisors were trained.
Had a chance to go to Japan to purchase new grinding equipment and Germany for CNC training.
It was also enjoyable to be part of the APQP team to run new jobs in the plant and to promote new ideas.
I also introduced new roboting equipment that saved the company over a million dollars/year.
Worked well with everyone and strived to make a difference every day.

The work is hard at first as would be expected of any job in an automotive parts production line but nothing is unreasonable. The work culture is one of doing what it takes to keep yourself and your family going. It is hot and sometimes dirty work but once you get used to the pace of the line the work itself isn't too physically demanding. The managers and supervisors are reasonable and understanding of troubles with the line, making life easier when something beyond the control of a line worker goes wrong.

I would be still there had it not been for the Covid 19 out break. Personally  enjoyed my (GR 1 Bihler setter op.) position with ZF. Being mechanically incline helps with the job at hand. Must where the proper PPE. Self motivated individuals would fit right in at ZF, because one person operates the machine your assign to. There is crane, press operation, part checks and maintaining work area house keeping. Constantly checking parts from each bucket to maintain proper quality for the customer. Chose an early retirement due to the Covid 19 out break.

Everyone there was very nice and welcoming, but on the downside because they shave raw castings of brake rotors and paint them as well and they have no real way of getting rid of it, it just ends up in the air and the floor, you always walk out of there with at least a thin layer of black stuff, which also means you are breathing that in which is not good at all. there was always overtime available for people who wanted it and the people who didn't since they mandated you every Saturday.

Overall, the work experience was average. While teamwork and support from colleagues were generally positive, the job became frustrating due to frequent technical issues with the warehouse systems and equipment. System reliability was poor, and when problems were reported, the response from maintenance or supervisors was often delayed, sometimes taking hours or days. These delays significantly impacted productivity and added unnecessary stress to the daily workflow.

Good place to work, not may place where you can choose your own lunch and breaks. The hourly pay is good. I just don't like how they handle the schedule, what i mean is the don't put the schedules up till thursday and depending on the shift you may not find out till the Friday night shift. With the possibility of being mandated every weekend the work/life balance I find can be poor.
