I had a very frustrating experience working at Au Pain Doré due to the poor management. While my colleagues were friendly and supportive, the management was the complete opposite. I often felt like I was under constant surveillance, which created a stressful work environment. The managers were unhelpful, never offering positive feedback, and were overly critical about the smallest details. Additionally, they were consistently late with payments, and my paychecks frequently contained incorrect hours, with some payments missing for months. The workplace rules were also extreme, with prohibitions on talking and drinking, which only added to the discomfort. Overall, the lack of effective management and unreasonable policies made my time at Au Pain Doré quite unpleasant. Only perks i had while working there are food discounts and speaker privileges.

The day to day job is like any other barista job (coffee, customer service, food, cleaning etc.) but management and the way the specific franchise owner running the location will become an issue. Micromanagement will inevitably occur and management lacks transparency related to scheduling, pay and tips. You're already going to be a metaphorical punching bag for the customers, you don't need management punching you too. If you need a job and money, it's a fine company but if you respect yourself and your health, I could not recommend working here. I liked working with my coworkers, but the trickle down disregard, disrespect, and attitude is too much.

At least you can get free drinks every now and then.

Work was work, schedule was a bit hard as I had to wake up very early to start work. But the thing I loved is that staff presented zero dramas during the time
I worked there. Only professional people committed to their work and nothing else. Corporate type people I’ve worked with in the past can learn a thing or two from these colleagues I had at Au Pain Doré about behaving decently and not like prima donnas. I miss them. Too bad the pay is low that it makes you look for other jobs that pay more. Makes me wonder if money should always be the drive. 

The cafe itself is pretty nice, customers are great for the most part, and the scheduling is very flexible. However, management is not great. Employees aren't recognized for their hard work, and there is very little room for growth in the company or pay increases. This is a good opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the workforce. Overall, 3/5 experience working here. 

Managers micromanage heavily here, they do not follow brand recipe standards or food safety protocols which was uncomfortable to work around. Constant missed hours of pay that do not get solved promptly. Coworkers were the only thing that made this job tolerable.

great company for students. flexible hours , Teach the rules and disciplines excepted in the working world. Have to work under pressure .
