What is the best part of working at the company?
I used to work from 2008 to 2017.  Back then you had a career path until the position of the expert then things became murky and political as to
How you move higher.  Many good colleagues and some good perks such as the stock matching options ( 50-%) and the defined benefit pension plan.  However as years progressed the company became greedy.  The stock options could not be cashed out but a portion of them without penalty as in the past. The indexation of the pension plan became history and the contributions increased.  Also new management took place based on the who you know philosophy and unfortunately how they looked and where they were from.  Things started to go downhill after that.  Unsure how they are in 2024 but I assume a glossed up call centre with replaceable Numbers.  It is sad but it did not use to be that way.  Way too toxic.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Repetitive job, a gossip environment where everyone knows each other business thin HR unreliable walls and a glossy superficial “ we are the best” atmosphere where in reality rights are taken away as there is no real union and no opposition.  I recall the days where the jobs were changing based on needs and employees had to do irrelevant tasks to the ones they were hired for! In other words if you click with management everything was fine if not you could
See the door.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depends how management views you.  Political superficial correctness, glossy positivity that covers a hollow promotion place where the you “fit the mould” is more important than you do the best job.  To add to this Belairdirect is known to for ever increase insurance rates of all the companies greedy Intact is buying out ending up in raising rates to the elderly on fixed income that used to have insurance with the mom and pops companies.  Every renewal the rates go
Up ending in more and more
Frustrating calls.  Pathetic 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I used to go ten fifteen minutes earlier
Log on check the emails and then take calls after call.  Management used to monitor toilet breaks and write people up if they were too long in the bathroom.  Nightmare…
Everything was recorded spent time with people on the phone but not too much time regardless of the person was a senior that needed their time.  We are not focused on selling but here is a meeting for performance for you if your numbers are a little
But lower.  Job security a total joke.

As a student, you have to fight tooth and nail to get days off for your exams. Forget about vacation days, you will never get those unless you call in sick. If you call in sick you will be HEAVILY questioned on all aspects of your private matters. Unless you manage to convince them you are extremely sick, you will be asked to show up to work "in a couple hours when you feel better". Your sales team lead is paid to convince you to take as little time off as possible and it shows. Behind all the nice pay and the bonuses is a culture of overtime and zero breaks. This job is not for students, they do not respect your need for different schedules and time off during finals. The job itself is also highly stressful with constant barrage of mean and rude clients. The encouraging and friendly co-workers helps combat the feeling of dread of being on the phone line all the time. You have multiple KPIs forcing you to stay on line and be as efficient as possible. When you call in for help from your colleagues, you will often find them demeaning, arrogant and not helpful. There are times where they can do something for you and it takes them 1 min but instead they will spend 5 minutes telling you how to do it and then it will take you 5 more minutes trying to follow their steps. Sometimes I just wanted to say. There are times that instead of giving me the answer they will tell me to "look it up" in the documentation. Even though they literally know the answer, they enjoy not telling me and making me have to find it on my own. Overall bad memories but good pay. 

My typical day at work included taking calls adapting to every client calling in. in many instances I was forced to adapt to many different situations given to me by the client. I learned many things from Belairdirect most of them being problem solving, efficiency, team building and how to work in a very professional environment. Management was close to excellent, depending on the manager that you get you could see a diverse selection of what each one brought to the table. My experience with management has been thus far very good. The workplace culture was very open and friendly, the co workers made for a very special place to work giving me almost a second family. The hardest part of my job was balancing my excellent customer service skills with what the company was looking for when it came to clients. It is very hard for me to say no on some occasion but now controlling who I sell to has become the best part of my job opening up a whole new world of customer service where at the end of the day you are selling the product and its up to you how you sell it and who you sell it to. The most enjoyable part of this job was the day to day life, getting those really good calls and having long conversations, building relationships with your clients.

Absolutely abhorrent hypocrisy regarding their "support" of work/life balance. You will rarely get the time off you request when its "speculative to be busy" that day, and if you work the 12-9 shift forget it.
They will question you for taking sick time (even if you have sick notes & there's a flu going around the office) and chalk it off as an absenteeism problem. No, it's an environment problem.
Check your mental health at the door, this place only see's success from those that are sheep and accept leadership that has a totalitarian mentality (aka you have to accept what I say because I'm the boss and I can't be wrong). On top of that a lot of people who get promoted to Team Leader position should absolutely never in their life lead a team because they lack the characteristics in order to be a leader and a manager. There were some (ie like 2 tops) team leaders who excelled in their positions and fought to keep their team happy and saw the benefit of what its like to have a happy team....first basic rule of management happy employee = success...this concept seems foreign and lost on this place.
Save yourselves the time and mental degradation of working in this toxic environment and pick another insurance company to work for. I left for a better salary and environment elsewhere and couldn't be happier.

Taking inbound calls for technical support, providing tailored solutions, reviewing and accepting level messages from Sales on policy changes and new business. Reviewing renewals then releasing or cancelling according to company guidelines and regulations. Reviewing inspection reports and making recommendations. Processing claim referrals and taking further action to ensure that policies are maintained in good standing. Reviewing pictures for damage assessment. Making outbound calls to other insurance companies to verify clients insurance history.

The Hardest part of the job is dealing with other insurance companies who are reluctant to provide required information. 

Finding a solution to a difficult technical problem.

  We get to work from home most days, only heading to the office once a week—Thursdays for me—which is a big plus. But there are some things that really need to change. The weekly coaching sessions are a pain, especially since other call centers didn’t require them; they should be monthly instead. We get a one-hour lunch, but it’s crazy that we don’t get two 15-minute breaks like most places. Every day, we’re stuck making outbound calls for two hours, pushing clients to activate a program they supposedly agreed to, and we can’t even take quick bathroom breaks during that time without telling a manager. Their quality control is way too strict—if you give great service but forget to log a note in the client’s file, you get a zero on that call, which can screw up your yearly review. They’re also super picky about hitting a high number of calls per hour and don’t let you put clients on hold; they make you use mute instead. On top of that, there’s no time to catch your breath between calls, so it feels like you’re going nonstop.

I learned a lot at Belairdirect—primarily about customer service, though insurance, of course, was the key focus. The culture promotes mutual respect, which created a very pleasant working environment. I would still be working there if not for other responsibilities that took me far away. Since fully remote work isn’t currently an option, I had to resign. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend others to work there, and I’d gladly return in the future if my circumstances change.

Culture is great, management in sales is very helpful. They care a lot about your growth in your role and in your career. (Managers in other departments are a different story). In sales, you have to work on Saturdays every so often and usually start with a closing shift. 
The company itself cares a lot about employee engagement so there are a lot of celebrations in office, usually it's just free food. It's mostly remote since the beginning of the pandemic which is nice. They have a lot of corporate perks, company matching stock plans, and generous benefits. 

I am a student hired for a PART TIME job. They’ll tell you in the beginning that they offer flexible for students to succeed well in school and at work but this is completely false. Some of my coworkers and myself were unauthorized to take a day off to write an exam. Also, they’ll force you to work way more than 21h like you are actually supposed to but you won’t be paid for those. Talking about pay-check, don’t be fooled thinking this is a big company with smart and functional payroll systems, there’s always trouble with the pay checks, like always. I had high expectations since it was supposed to be my first “real” and “serious” job as a student, but i think any minimum wage job would have a better management staff. 

The staff is primarily made up of the graduating post secondary students and every year it is replaced. Only a select few are retained. 
All Phone calls are recorded and scored. Then in a group setting, some are scrutinized.
At the end of the year you have to complete an exorbitant employee review, explaining why you did or did not meet the quotas. You are assessed on: the number of home  and auto activations, you are scored on a years worth of recorded phone calls, calls per hour, underwriting results etc.,
Overall once you get your foot in the door, your experience will allow you to move to better companies.
