The company has great staff that are willing to help eachother out any time they can. Busy work environment with tight schedules as is the norm in this trade. Upper management and owner are approachable and willing to help with any issues professional or personal. Company is based on a get out what you put in model so hard work and doing extra allows for rabid advancement and reward. It has been a pleasure to work and grow with this company.

Extreme lack of any training, or follow up. Pretty much left to figure out how to build doors and windows on your own. Major language barrier between workers and management. 

Pay rates are all over the place, new hires can get paid more than people they have worker there for years. 

Doesn't seem to be any kind of quality control, but management gets angry when products are scratched or dented. 

No real leadership or guidance, supervisors and foreman will communicate is foreign language and not relay any information to you.

The only positive I've seen with this job is you work 9.5 hours shifts, to allow you leave work at 12:00pm on Friday. 

I am at almost 2 years here now and have found this company to be a nice work place. It has a lot going for its like location in lovely town of Barrie, 2 minutes from the beach, collaborative approach, open door policy, ability to utilize anyone's insight on a problem you come across, post work get togethers, annual golf tournament, great social committee that organize good events and treats, food truck days and so on. Regular brain storming for better success and process refining. People centric.

Workplace culture is something we have been working hard to better at BMG.  Social Committee is actively working to promote activities that will foster team building events.  
Leadership group has worked to map the template for our businesses purpose, mission, vision & core values.  Next steps, will be to ensure that the companies culture is understood among all employees & that this culture aligns with our core values.  This is a 3 year objective, but we are certainly moving in the right direction & I look forward to helping the company achieve these goals

Being an Estimator at BMG was a total nightmare!  They expect you to pull magic acts, quoting massive projects with razor-thin margins. You barely have time to breathe, let alone double-check your numbers. One mistake and you're on the hook for the difference, eating into your measly paycheck. It's a constant high-wire act with no safety net, and forget about praise for a job well done. All they care about is the bottom line, not the people who crunch the numbers to get them there.

Project managers throw you under the bus at every occasion to protect themselves from a bi polar owner. No standard pay scale, people that get bonuses from your labour also have a say in your earnings. No gratitude, very limited advancement opportunities. Out of town work required with poor incentives and allowances, toxic work environment, I am surprised the MOL allows this place to continue to operate. 

Dont work here terrible place to work.
Go work at McDonalds you will be treated better not a fun atmosphere at at. Very uncomfortable place to work. People are bot very freindly to approach.  Lots of office drama.

The job will require you to wear different hats and do a 3-man job! The office was ridiculously disorganized even management couldn't get things right! No proper training, I was expected to know what to do! Terrible! Work stress is expected, but this is insanely overwhelming for me!!

I got to bmg Glass + Aluminum as a Co-op student and was given many opportunities to grow in the months after, which I took and developed to this day. Passing through different areas like estimation, and Project Manager, a position that I hold right now, in combination with the other ones.

Great work environment and great management leadership.

Employees are forced to take on multiple roles outside their job description resulting in overwhelming workloads. Management doesn't even bother providing you with help, leading to a lot of employees being constantly exhausted and burnt out.
