I love working in retail, I like challenges and working as a team learning and helping each other, I started working in this business because the store is beautiful and because even though I don't have children I like babies a lot, but ... even though I'm a very positive person, very hard-working and dynamic, definitely having worked in this place made me feel miserable, useless, used, the fact that they despise you for your way of being, for your color for your way of expressing yourself and the way you The mangers verbally attack you in front of your coworkers, lower all your expectations of working as a team, the moment comes when you feel that you do not deserve respect, that you are a stupid person, that you are less than others and also for more than I gave my 100%, I always received complaints about my work and when I tried to talk to the managers what they did was ignore me, especially the store manager leaves while   you talking , it is something wrong with The company because no body care about the feedback and if you have the opportunity to go there you can see how it is always new employees because nobody can handle the bad situations that you have to work with 

I worked at BBB for a year or so and definitely would recommend it if you're looking for a retail position. They have extensive training so you really learn everything you need to know and will help you any time you need. I asked SO many questions when I was starting and everyone was super helpful. All but one of our managers was absolutely amazing, loved working with them. If you didn't know something or were dealing with a difficult customer, you could always call a manager and they'd come to help you out with the interaction. The busiest times were usually evenings, weekends, and holidays - usually, customers had questions so you'd be running around a lot to help people but we were staffed well so it wasn't too insane. The other employees were great, everyone got along pretty well and it was overall just a great environment. 

While I love the work environment/co-workers and the customer service knowledge gained, I cannot express how awful and unreasonable the management is. Typical shifts tend to be stressful due to high expectations from management and frequent short-staffing, causing disorganization and delayed breaks. The most rewarding aspect is being able to help customers during this special time in their lives. Unfortunately, there is a disconnect between the workers and management, due to their condescending and childish/drama-like behavior, which makes it difficult overall. For being in business for less than a year, the turnover rate is exceptionally high. I would not recommend this job to anyone due to the countless instances where management has treated the staff very poorly and have displayed an unwillingness to compromise.

Buy buy baby was actually once upon time great place to work at. It was so nice to help customers that appreciated it and as well first time moms and dads. The staff is great and we all had lots of fun. Unfortunately the management was horrible, they have people running a business who have no idea how to. They act so friendly but at the end of the day are so catty and childish. As long as you work and do what they like you are in their good books but as soon as you ask for them to accommodate you the answer is a big fat no! Being a baby store you would think they should understand having a family and a child to take care of but no they don't. They dont accommodate with schedule changes or needs. This place has so much turnover in staff and it won't stop until they get some new management.

- gets extremely busy during sales (black friday, boxing day, etc)
- if store has no customer traffic you may find yourself with not much to do but straighten shelves
- most of product knowledge will have to be learned on your own as training can only give you a good idea
- previous experience in baby product (like having a kid) is an asset and would help you form better opinions to share with customers
- management is very lax and will (pardon the pun) *baby* you
- you are always encouraged to "pass the buck"
- workplace culture is very friendly, everyone is willing to help one another learn and collaborate
- occasional potlucks for birthdays and seasonal events
- high employee turnover... dont expect to be working with same people next year
- you get to meet lots of cute babies
- if you are a fairly attractive male expect plenty of female customers to flirt with you... it is what it is

I was hired as a temporary position for the store opening however was trained for sales everyday. A few days before the store actually opened I was fired for no reason at all. I worked extremely hard with arrogant managers for minimum wage. In the contract they gave you it seems as though they're hiring you for a sales position and only asked sales questions during the interview however we only did stock. Around half of the employees they hired were fired only two weeks later. They knew during the hiring process who they wanted to keep and let go. They hired strong guys for the stock and kept the pretty faces for the actual sales positions. This is a very dodgy company and if you can, go to a different company when shopping for your baby. Also, the prices are incredibly high for no reason. You can find the exact same items in different stores for so much cheaper.

Worked for the company for 11+ years and it was great for the first 8. Basically when the pandemic hit, everything changed and upper management became remote. This created a huge gap in what was required at a store level. Management held unrealistic standards and every manager would work 50+ hour work weeks.

Outside of that, the processes (operationally and merchant wise) are archaic and every initiative rollout is always flawed. You are constantly playing catch up 

This company was great a few years ago, but ever since the market has shifted to more ecomm focused, it seems like the company is peril and risk of becoming irrelavant

Working with Buy Buy Baby is the opportunity to grow. While working as team leader ,supportive team players helping each other to complete the tasks. Learned a lot from the organisation even from the co-employees, even learning new everyday helps improve and boost skills. Abilities to adapt to situation, customer queries, resloving problems, retaining consumer, preparing invoices, orders, answering calls, cash back ups, LOD shifts, Merchandising all include a part of job and interacting with the customers imparting knowledge about the products and cross selling in turn is a fun. Talking to customers is learning and enjoyable helping them what they are looking for and what is best for them. Customer satisfaction is the most important perspective from any point of view.

Most stress full part is one time i don't have good manager she put lot of stress on employee she don't know how how to menage store.

Last few year before company close enviornment was really good i enjoyed work there i wish still buy buy baby in canada again.iwould like to work there again

I worked for the company for about 6 months. During the original interview process, I had been offered more than their starting rate due to my previous experience but when signing my contract I was only offered minimum. I was also promised major growth and potential supervision roles but that fell through immediately. When I was first hired, I was still in school full time but had been expected to work more than I could or had offered too when signed on. Management would criticize your every move and the coaching practices were ineffective and hard to use in real sales environments. Little to no cross-training was encouraged despite multiple departments.
