Everyone is nice, but nice does not get the job done. Half the employees work hard while the other half hardly work and consistently get away with it. Consistent issues of short staffing, scheduling, abuse of breaks, senior staff attitudes, lack of cleaning, communication, accountability and management throughout the whole department. Senior staff do not live up to their titles or experience. No support with agressive/insulting customers. New hires are often not trained properly or not willing to do work and are not coached or left go before probation, essentially left to take up hours instead of hiring someone new. 
Some employees from other departments do not have boundaries involving other people's belongings. Stolen food, going through others lockers and leaning on other people's vehicle's is common practice.
Co -workers are fun for the most part. Would be a great place to work if people did their part and worked together.

I'm not sure how this organization is considered to be one of Canada's best managed 50 companies. The management is mediocre at best. There is a lack of communication across all departments, so their is no real goal or objective for the standard employee to achieve. The employees also often get blamed for mistakes made by management. The work-life balance here is good because they cut almost all of their employees hours. They only give 10 minute breaks which is not nearly enough considering how long the shifts are. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere before you apply with this organization.

Awful management. My manager doesn’t listen to any of the issues I bring up, constantly tries to blame things on me and gaslights people so often that you think you’ve gone crazy. Lead hands and managers telling you to do different things, multiple times, makes your head spin. The department I work in is filthy because of the incompetent staff. I actually enjoy the job itself, but the toxic environment that has been built rapidly within the past year or so would turn anyone off. The skillful workers aren’t being paid fairly and the workers that do nothing are praised. Retail; are we really that surprised? 

You wake up, go to work get out at 9pm. Your day is wasted, body is in shambles from doing the work that is not appropriate for your job title. Everyone is fearful of the managers. I learned that when you do less work the more benefits you get. Hardest part is being there for more then 1 hour listening to always rude customer. Most enjoyable part was being rude back to them <3

Management was horrible. I had food poisoning and was told to still come to work.management in the bakery was just down right mean. One lady in the bakery literally told me I was just a dumb like ***** and I shouldn’t have been there.
Working here in the beginning is great once your there a month or two they cut your hour in half to the point I worked one 4 hour shift a week 

Overall a good workplace. Store manager and department managers are friendly. Head office supervises closely through cameras and micromanages. No dental benefits. 

I loved working at Coleman's but do having a special needs child I need something with more flexibility. I was working sticking shelves and cash but with my background with working in convience stores I pretty much work in every Dept when I did fill in places I loved working in the deli

Managers constantly being made to cut hours. Most employees are burnt out with no support from upper management. Everyone stretched thin and being moved around to fill spots when there’s not enough people scheduled leading to short staffing in other areas. Expectations to work well beyond your job description. Coworkers are the best part of the job. 

I found the management was poor.  A lot of their work day was spent on personal business.  I was expected to prepare fruits and vegetables in a dirty environment.  I was told that it was more important to have high out put than work in a clean environment.

8 Months of harassment as well as disrespect from co-workers. We begged for someone to help and nobody made any differences.

Instead of helping us with the harassment from our coworkers our own store manager came down and only asks us why our productions low. 

This Bakery is run like a sweat shop, have fun.
