Company overall is fantastic, constantly learning and developing new skills. I have learned how to properly install panels, trench runs, start/stop stations as well as installing and terminating MCC panels and tons of other electrical related work. 
Management is superb, they were always there whenever I had questions about my pay stub, schooling and blue book, amongst other things, they were extremely helpful.
Most enjoyable part was seeing the whole project come together, working for weeks on one system and then flicking the breaker and seeing the whole thing come together.
One major con that I have noticed though is that some of the Journeymen that I have worked with had no idea how to properly terminate wires, cut in cable or even make a proper structural tray run, which was very surprising to me. 
They have also been doing constant layoffs, which is not really the companies fault per say but still not enjoyable.
Overall a very good company none the less.

Techs are great, Admin staff is great, they do what they can to support the Tech. Issue is Poor Managers, they do whatever they want, promise change but never follow through, take advantage of the high $ salaries and give nothing to Admin.  They are bringing the Company to the ground.  It's a shame to see a good company run by Managers who only look out for their personal interests and not the Company's best interest.  Used to be a rewarding place to work, now it's just heartbreaking to go to work everyday and see how many people are there to just collect a paycheque, do nothing but gossip and dont give a cap anymore.

Show up on time. do a safety meeting. listen to foreman or superintendent debrief, the go to work with your assigned apprentice. I learned most of the electrical ways of doing thinds here, we worked, residential, commercial, and industrial. I consider myself to be a week-rounded journeyman.
The culture was the same. I get along with other tradesman. Theyre easy people to make friends with.
hardest part of the job... probably heavy lifting. being outside in the rain or the snow for 12 hours a day.
Most enjoyable part of day would be payday/flyday/ day off.
I genuinely enjoy doing electrical work though.

I was so excited to start working with Concept. All my research and feedback told me it was a great investment of my time, and an excellent opportunity to truly grow with a company... and then i met the office staff. Between the gossip, cliques,  power struggles, and the poorly experienced staff in positions they couldn't handle, it became a regret quickly. 

So many good people were mistreated, ignored, and left helpless to truly fulfill their roles. 

I feel bad for all the effort put in prior to the doors closing yesterday, but at the same time I think a lot of people feel healthier to not have to go back to the atmosphere that was Concept.

I was hired at Concept with the understanding that I would become indentured after 3 months if I worked hard etc. which I did. But a week before 3 months came along I was let go and I also later found out that they never registered me to get my hours logged. I also found out at the 3 month mark a company has to indenture you. I now know that they hired a bunch of guys to get some work done with no intention of keeping them on. I would have been fine with this if they had been honest with me at the outset so I could decide if I wanted to take the job or not but they never mentioned anything of the sort.

In life you get what you give.  Concept is the same as any other major construction company... they aim to walk the line of what they can provide as a salary with still pulling a profit on the job.  What they offer is a competitive wage with the opportunity to move up if you are willing to put in the work.  Would I recommend this company? Absolutely!  To be part of a company with large growth potential is what we are all looking for.

I worked with Concept Electric from 2014 - 2018 and during those years I was well looked after with only a bit of downtime in between most jobs. The jobs I worked always had good onsite management as well as good field crew employees. Along with the current economy, the source of the problems seemed to be from upper management resulting in a few too many jobs coming in over budget leading to bankruptcy.

Good company, good benefits, good hours, great job sites... but some pretty low life guys in the office.
I would love to go back to concept, but it seems they are falling apart and may dissolve soon (rumors around the company suggest so).

Take what you can get from them while you can. Work hard and dont miss any days and it could be a great career, if the company doesnt go under.

I really enjoyed my time at this job and I learnt a lot. As a newbie they taught me a lot of the things you will actually do as an electrician instead of treating me like a grunt which I've been told is very common in electrical companies when they hire a new apprentice.

It all started in a Calgary garage and became a company with hundreds of staff in multiple cities. 
It was a privilage to be a part of the concept experience, and to be part of unique, highly skilled TEAM. From Admin staff, management, technicians, every person in every department.
