Summer job? Go for it. Otherwise, there's better. 25-50¢ increase in pay for doing a later shift, so it's not highly worth it, tho afternoon seems best. Sexist easy work for the women; they say bring a lock for ur toolbox, then don't compensate u when some temp snatches it & breaks it. Two 1/2hr breaks, but they act strict on punctuality after them w/o considering the time needed to dawn & disrobe ALL the layers of PPE 
& uniform, AND wash our hands & faces from the filth as we break open and disassemble appliances, tvs, monitors, and desktops full of chemicals, dust or spider nests. They sink their meager profits into a ton of new temps, build new workstations, new equipment, etc.; for a huge expansion cause other business competition left the industry. Then dismiss ur requests for a raise or to be hired on directly, feeding u hollow promises that they'll make it happen in another 3-4 wks. They don't care about you, no matter how hard you work. Don't get more lockers for temps, say u can leave ur safety vest in the open locker and shoes area, but get mad when another temp takes your vest and damages it on a later shift. My section's conveyor didn't work after the first month, and I had to fetch stuff to disassemble myself. All while supervisors tally the main parts to track my progress, and speed. Not easy to keep up when unconventional designs make it difficult to disassemble, even with brawn. You work alone in each period, the cushioned floor mat may be shared by two stations poorly and ur feet may ache in no time. No stools are given to work on in spite of requests by most workers. I'd have music or podcasts thru earbuds to keep me sane cause their Top 40 radios were torture, but managers would reprimand me for the only pleasure I'd have that made the days fly by, even tho I'd never be walking in a hazardous area that needed my awareness. Except a few selective clowns, NO ONE was social or made it nice to come back to. You'll be so exhausted after work that you'll stuff yourself late at night to replenish, and/or pass out.

eCycle ahahah This place was a life changing experience I was there for 1 year so I can't say I completely hated it but now that I've worked at other places and compare with my time spent at eCycle Ive realized that place had some horrible conditions!! But you can survive there if you don't mind the environment and play your role correctly

The Bad:
- You have to wear the work jumpsuits, and all the PPE requirements including rubber gloves, work gloves of that, glasses, face mask, safety boots AND earplugs!! thats a lot to wear especially with how dusty and HOT it can get in there...
- NO A/C (when I was there) 2017-18... It gets very hot, so the small fan is only blowing hot air at you plus all of the dust from the environment... You basically feel like your in an astronaut suit all day ahah
- Management/workers relationship are non existent unless you go there and really apply yourself and make your own relationships
- 80% of people complain all day, in the change rooms, on shifts, about the conditions of working there ahaha a lot of people quit very quickly some people have been there for years... Its all up to you
-Workplace environment is very boring/segregated, you have a face mask on and earplugs plus foggy glasses on ahah no one is having much conversation... but again it depends where you work in the facility

The Good
- BBQs/Pizza lunch I was there for a year and they have had multiple BBQs usually to welcome new employees which happens frequently ahah
- Promotion is also pretty easy because management /supervisors/all works tend to quit frequently after getting there own experience for there resumes and leave on to other companies aha

Theres more I could get into but overall this is just a terrible work environment due to the DUST/HEAT and Protective gear you have to wear!! But this is also an interesting facility to be apart of because you will see the full process of how electronics are being recycled

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely dirty working conditions, on site shredder puts out dust every days that goes everywhere in the warehouse area, and possibly being breathed in as well. Also there is a rule about not wearing anything on your person that could get caught on running equipment, but because of the large East Indian population in this company's work force, they ignore all the bangles and rings that these people keep on their persons when they are supposed to remove them, I've seen the "security guard" just wave them through the metal detector without them taking such items off.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company claims to be multicultural but it is not, it hires a lot of east indies people out of Brampton to fill their positions. During the time I was there I only ever saw 2 people of African decent and at lease 2 other Caucasians  besides myself, and that's just the warehouse I have no idea what the office is like.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start at 7:00 am in the morning and perform tasks in the division I was hired for. We would sort apple accessory products some days and others we would handle imputing into a spread sheet information pertaining to equipment picked up from a customer that was slated for destruction.

I went through different phases at eCycle, starting when the company had some struggles with its labour efficiency. Although demanding and a bit stressful at times, overcoming the challenge of improving the operations as a whole was very rewarding. Last I heard they are still doing very well in terms of process efficiency. The company is led by very smart people, and the overall culture is Teamwork and Focus. Lots of great co-workers, and good support from leadership. Leaders are very business-oriented, they will provide all support you need if you are a hard worker, and if you are on the right track. What I liked the most about eCycle's leadership is that they are facts- and data-driven. Lastly, one way or the other, depending on whom you work with (I was fortunate to work with very intelligent leaders) you learn a lot - about the industry, about management, about prioritization, about getting down to the real root cause of issues. It is not a very large organization so access to top leaders is wide open however, focus and prioritization are a must as it is not a very large company and senior management is very much focused on results (no room for the big Corporate "fat" you would normally find in large organizations).

Management are a bunch of HYPOCRITES!!!

They make rules for the warehouse workers and then turn around and NEVER follow the rules they created 

There is a definite feeling from the office that the warehouse staff is lower than pond scum and should not be associated with...

HR is a joke your complaints are never heard against the office elite and when warehouse staff gets hauled into HR's precious office they're never fully listened too

Was dismissed without written warnings...just dismissed and not even allowed to plead my case

The office elite walk around in this segregated little bubble of theirs and have no idea whats its even like to work on the floor with their ridiculous demands 

Drivers are treated with little respect or the smallest appreciation for the job they do and are demanded to do way to much with the time frame by a bunch of stupid people who all they do is sit behind a computer desk and punch addresses into google maps and expect the impossible

Would NEVER work for them...run away as fast as you can and don't even waste your time thinking you'll become permanent because they will find ANY excuse possible to fire you before that even happens..the turn over in there with warehouse workers is huge

•	Responsible for Directing all ISO, OHSAS, and RQP/ARMA electronic stewardship program management systems at multiple Canadian locations to provide safe and responsible electronics recycling and recovery in both Canada and globally.
•	Updating and completing all legal and other matrices for all Canadian recycle processing sites to ensure compliance
•	Evaluating all four Canadian recycle facilities and all global downstream partners to ensure that all partners and stakeholders uphold responsible electronics requirements and standard expectations.
•	Coaching and mentoring Operations Managers and line leaders at all Canadian locations to enable them to develop regional self-sufficient Quality and EHS management systems as part of a greater national program to ensure sustainability.

Working by myself without management lurking over my back

Getting forced to do a job that you don’t want to do and you tell management that you don’t want to do it and management tells you if you don’t do it find another job

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I would not advise anybody to work for that company

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day at work is working by myself and getting my job done without management lurking over your shoulder all the time

- There exists a strong culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Employees take pride in their efforts and accomplishments.
- A family-focused culture is being developed and promoted.

- Goals and objectives are clearly defined. 
- Those in positions of leadership are focused on helping their direct reports succeed. 
- The experienced members of the organization take pride in sharing knowledge with new employees.  
- eCycle resides within a growth industry and thus presents existing and future employees with opportunities to grow their career and exceed expectations on performance.

Management do not care about employees. No guidance or training. Directions are not clear and expectations end up being opposite of instructions. Management was rarely available to answer questions. Job description work did not match what was actually required eg work from home vs travelling multiple times a week to a plant in remote location. They required specific work but did not provide the correct resources for it. They would not hesitate to ruin your personal life for their gain. If i could go back, i would not have accepted the offer to work for this mismanaged company.

From the day I started management took the time to make sure Ecycle was a great fit for me and not just me for Ecycle. I have had the opportunity to contribute my ideas and work alongside some incredible individuals. Ecycle is truly a diverse workplace that has allowed me to grow as an individual and in my career. The company continues to invest in new technologies and show a keen interest in being the best at what they do. I feel a sense of belonging that also makes me feel like part of the team.
