An Account Executive position at Marcus Evans is not for everyone
It requires a lot of hard work, adaptability and a strong will to succeed. A typical day starts off with a morning meeting highlighting the objectives of the day followed by an enthusiastic rush to get the day started.

They employ very talented people with the capacity to become some of the sharpest sales people in North America, if not the world. The managers are very helpful and understanding. They certainly make it a fun environment.

Marcus Evans was my first "real" job after school. It was a fun job with amazing co-workers but It was definitely a challenging experience in a positive way. 
I had to learn how to negotiate with high level management (Presidents & CEOs) and maintain business conversations that would lead to the sale. 
I enjoyed the events industry cause I was able to travel within the company and meet my clients face to face. 
Overall, it was a very rewarding experience, both from a business and a personal perspective.

no one really cares how you do
the training of the management isn't really training, it's really only judging

not a hard job, very simple actually but it's extremely boring!
making calls all day to random people from 8-5 is extremely boring!

if you make one sale, you actually lose money at the end of the month.....

you can advance to further positions based on your own efforts which is cool but again it is EXTREMELY boring!

A great place to work with outstanding senior management. Work to life balance was challenging for me b/c I was travelling to and from work 3 hours a day. Other then that I would recommend the job to anyone especially those who possess excellent communication skills.

In regards to Marcus Evans,

They promise high sales comissions, but have you are unable to sent information to prospective clients, they have to make a decision within 24 hours.
Additionaly I was promised a higer salary then I wa given, and management is lacking.
Overall the job is very monotomous.

I loved the people I have met here. My manager and the director at the Toronto office are amazing. They do a lot of training to help us develop our sales skills.

This job will toughen you up if you are just starting your career. There is a lack of aspiring managers. They all like to bicker, and act like childish people. Don't expect to make a lot of money in your first few months IF you even last that long.

Good if you want a career in sales, you get to learn the basics and then you can apply to other companies.

boiler room environment. They treat their employees badly and expect most people to break after a couple of weeks. You are expected to pressure CEOs into accepting deals without proper consultation.
