My experience at the home started off positively I came in excited to take on the job I enjoyed working with the residents and was happy to be cooking for them. I realized as the months progressed that I may be being taken advantage of. My pay remained the same regardless of the increase listed in my supposed contract the date I was hired. I was made to work ridiculous hours by myself taking on all responsibilities in the kitchen during the times we were understaffed. I worked under gross and unsafe conditions as it was an older home. There were broken uneven floors, cockroaches, no running water at times, unsafe tasks assigned to us without adequate training (during shifts where I was all alone and very busy and overwhelmed with tasks) there was no regard for employees lives outside of work?? Expected to work/ stay back certain hours outside of your scheduled shift or otherwise get criticism. Was also questioned by a charged nurse/ manager when I called in sick so I was made to still come in because they didn’t believe my symptoms…Just foolishness. You are nothing but a number here. Managers have a tendency to micro manage and breathe over your shoulder, would make comments without knowing the routines in the kitchen (other non kitchen staff as well did this) and it was severely irritating and discouraging I didn’t feel trusted as an employee and did not understand why I was being kept around if I was such an issue. Good luck here hope you make it out alive. 

My heart belongs to Morriston Park Nursing Home and I miss working there every day. 

I was a dedicated full-time employee who focused on each resident in my care. I seen many residents come and go in my time at Morriston. 

I remember them all with love and respect. 

I love and respect Morriston Park Nursing Home and everyone there. Management has a big responsibility to making sure all residents are cared for by caring dedicated and responsible staff.

I have also seen many employees come and go in my time at Morriston Park Nursing Home. Dedicated, caring and hard-working employees like me stay.

Some employees do not respect Morriston Park Nursing Home. They only care for themselves and are not suitable with the needs of the residents and they do not respect the job and concern of management. Then they go. 

The management at Morriston Park Nursing Home has always been fair and kind to me. They have helped me with many things and some difficult times over the years. 

I have seen and I know that management have helped other staff through hard times and troubles too. They have done many good things for many the staff at Morriston Park. Sadly, people always talk about the bad and forget all the wonderful good.

A great deal of blessings have been given to the staff in my time at Morriston Park Nursing Home. I pray people see this.

It's so sad, the residents are amazing, staff are wonderful but everything else is horrible. Staff are overworked, they are expected to do the work of 10 people (laundry aide, activities, kitchen, PSW) all in one. 
Place is very dirty and very poorly managed, your schedule could change 10 times in one week, theres no job security you could be walked out at anytime for "suspension", or terminated just like that with no explanation. Very short staffed and don't know how to keep their employees. Lifts are falling apart, you are sometimes expected to work when lifts are not working by manually transferring residents. Washer and dryer are always broken, run out of hot water all the time, shelves falling down, everything falling apart including the employees because they are overworked and always asked to pick up shifts and work short all the time. The turn over is also very bad, (big red flag) Everyone I know who works here leaves because it is an absolutely horrible place to work and I would never put my loved one here to live, I feel for the residents <3

In the hands of the PSW's at Morriston Park the residents are at ease and well taken care of. Activity staff and dietary also look out for the residents best interest. Management often over works staff and NEVER listens. They look down on PSWs and give all the work to the nurses. Equivalent to highschool they have a "click". I watched them get rid of an awesome PSW due to her having a few days absent (does have young kids). All staff and few cognitive residents requested they bring her back....but they have chose not too..why? Because management does care about how well residents are. Their excuse was people were stuck filling in for her yet they are now begging us to do 12 hour shifts when we are already over working as is.

This home is lacking in many ways.  Management are physically close by but very unapproachable.  My concerns for residents well being fell on deaf ears. No activities for residents that are stuck in a small residence that consists of one hall and one other room.  As with many other places residents are ignored and bossed around.  This home uses paper towels for personal care. Foreign PSWs whose english is difficult to understand create behaviors for the residents.  Try to keep away from here if you can.

Several residents fell and sustained injuries including broken bones staff moved without evaluating injuries 
Nurses neglect cause resident to pass after admission To hospital 
Long time Staff are negative and complain causing negative attitude in others 
Nurses ignore complaints from Staff and treat staff as if they are stupid and nag at them with no knowledge of routine
Staff does not communicate other then complaints it is very poorly cleaned and staffed and managed care

I worked at Morriston Park for almost 4 years. This facility is so great and quality of care is exceptional. Management is very helpful and staff is very caring and compassionate towards their job. This facility provides home environment to residents and always have a lot of activities going on everyday. I loved working at this facility.

i worked at Morriston Park for close to ten years. I had a great team on the day shift and we all worked well together. from the residents to the staff we were all a great work family. I do miss working there and miss my residents and fellow staff. We always worked so hard to make the clients happy and feel like a real home.

Morriston Park was my first and favourite volunteer experience by far. Most of my skills were earned through this opportunity that provided me with chances to grow as an individual. As I helped with and planned activities, I got to know each individual better and that would be my favourite part of the job.
