I was offered a position here as a casual worker, which was perfect, as I also currently have a full time job and attend ptart time university.  This home is located in my community and I felt it would be a good fit based on the interview and schedule and my abilitybto give back locally.  However, I recieved a registered letter a few months later *demanding that I work a part time position which requires a commitment of every second weekend. This was not the circumstances under which I was hired, and even if it doesn't meet the needs, attempting to strong-arm a casual employee into a schedule that is entirely impossible is a fools quest. They lost a caring, commited, and engaged employee by baiting and switching the expected working hours. It's honestly their loss as I found another job locally that will accept my availability and allow for work-life-school balance. I'll be picking up the next few days to allow for staff time off. Your loss guys. 

Outside the premises of Oakcrossings was disgusting looks like a dump. Cigarettes butts everywhere does not make for a very nice beautiful place especially when new to the home. It looks terrible. As for the inside very nice and clean only concern is I found that the staff didn't wash hands every time when they should have. Not very sanitary in that respect. Otherwise that staff were very respectful and very friendly and helpful when you are new to the home. I enjoyed working with the residents and loved solving problems just not enough time when it was my last couple days of placement. I hope my residents follow through after I completed placement. They were a joy to be around. 

As a nurse graduate, after a couple of weeks I learned the routine in every floor, knew all residents, I am somedays nurse in charge of any floor, I administer oral, G-tube, topical, SQ or IM medications, assess those residents who feel sick, report to RN or physician. Other days, I am doing immunizations with ADOC, another days reviewing restraints, bedrails risk assessment, PASD. Some days, I assist with new admissions process, help with dressing care. document care plans. The hardest part of my job was the begining, knowing the residents, the staffs the processess. However, everybody have contributed to make my job enjoyable and a successful learning experience.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It should be called money cares because that is what matters most, not the people!!! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very poorly organized, issues not addressed in a timely fashion, depends where you fit in the social circle how you are treated. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Clicky and backstabbing and disorganized. Not fair and  work overtime and don’t get paid! In lieu promised but can never take it. Dishonest. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
One disaster after another. Lack of team work and support! Continual tension!!!!

Peoplecare was a great place to work when I started pre-pandemic, best team I've ever worked with. I have worked at multiple homes and they have some similarities for sure. Management is always awful but the residents make it worth it. Some homes pay more than hours depending on the union. 
Better place to work when you are part time or causal so there is not as much pressure on you.
Pandemic ruined a lot of LTC homes, especially this one.

Management needs some work as well as scheduling and has been some problems with paystub problems, if you can keep track of how much youve earned and dont mind the hard work then its not so bad... also dont expect to take a vacation time off until next year... they are scheduling people in the middle of their pre approved vacations and always working short... so about 10-15 residents each psw...

am happy to be a part of peopleCare Tillsonburg as a PSW. Since this is a new home, I appreciate the opportunity to be part of building a positive workplace environment from the beginning. The team members are supportive, and I enjoy caring for residents and making a difference in their daily lives.

This was a great experience and for me I would have loved to stay longer but I have developed an allergy to the hair products that I am using and using gloves all the time has really taken away from my enjoyable experience.  Working here has been great! Staff are friendly, as well as the residents and it has been a pleasure having had the opportunity to have worked here.  I would recommend if you absolutely love elderly people then this is the place for you!

Same as every other nursing home in London, really no different than others except lower pay, very poor staffing numbers, and terrible "directors". May as well work somewhere else for more money, better staffing and maybe even some decent nursing leadership.
