Covar Pharmaceuticals provides formulation development contract services for early phase pharmaceutical products with a focus on new chemical entities and novel technologies. We offer pre-formulation, formulation development, analytical development, clinical supply manufacture, and quality/regulatory consulting to Canadian and global clients from our GMP facility in Mississauga, Ontario.
We are looking for the applicants with the following characteristics:
- Graduates of strong chemical engineering or industrial pharmacy programs (such as Waterloo, McMaster, UofT, Western or equivalent)
- Strong background / interest in materials science (e.g. polymer sciences, crystal engineering, thermodynamics, physical chemistry)
- Strong academic standing
Covar is hiring both Formulation Scientists and Research Chemists. Successful candidates should expect to participate in sophisticated development programs, gaining a strong foundation for a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Please note this position does not include a benefits package.
Formulation Scientists will:
- Work closely with Senior Scientists to plan, coordinate and execute development projects for a wide variety of sophisticated dosage forms and products
- Develop, design and execute experiments and manufacturing processes in support of animal studies, human studies, or scale up
- Prepare batch records, protocols, technical reports, quality documents and regulatory submissions
- Follow Good Documentation Practices for physical and electronic records in accordance with FDA and Health Canada cGMPs
Research Chemists will:
- Work closely with Senior Scientists to plan, coordinate and execute method development and validation projects for a wide variety of novel drug substances and sophisticated dosage forms
- Assist Senior Scientists in performing physicochemical characterization and stability studies of drug substances, as well as API synthesis and nanoparticle manufacture process development studies
- Prepare protocols, technical reports, quality documents, and regulatory submissions
- Follow Good Documentation Practices for physical and electronic records in accordance with FDA and Health Canada cGMPs
Requirements:
- University degree in chemical engineering or industrial pharmacy (preferred) or a related field
