The Opportunity
You will work with a collaborative course development team to create meaningful learning experiences for our members and industry. The position actively participates in the design and development of AMTA’s courses and programs with a focus on continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with industry and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
· Create curriculum frameworks and assessment strategies to ensure alignment between learning outcomes, instructional methods, and desired learner performance.
· Review, validate, and approve instructional designs prior to production and delivery to maintain quality standards.
· Create and maintain high-quality training resources, including presentations, facilitator guides, participant manuals, job aids, and online content.
· Interpret legislation, health and safety regulations, industry standards, and accreditation requirements to produce compliant instructional content.
· Ensure learning products are compliant with regulatory bodies (e.g., provincial and federal government, Partnerships in Injury Reduction).
· Evaluate learner feedback, performance metrics, and course evaluations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
· Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to organize, structure, and standardize curriculum content while managing project scope.
· Develop and update engaging eLearning content using Articulate 360 tools.
What You Bring
Required
· Post-secondary degree in Instructional Design, Education, Adult Learning, or similar; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
· 5+ years proven working experience in an instructional design role for web-based and instructor-led training.
· Demonstrated subject matter expert (SME) management skills.
· Excellent written communication skills with an ability to write effective instructional text.
· 2+ years’ experience with Articulate 360 (Rise & Storyline).
· Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word and MS PPT.
Preferred
· Experience developing instructional materials and assets to meet regulatory requirements.
· Experience translating text and multimedia instructional materials to additional languages.
· Experience working from the content development side of a learning management system (LMS).
· Education and/or experience in educational multimedia design (e.g., graphics, video, animation).
· Experience in a transportation, driver training, or safety environment.
