Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care settings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and possess the skills necessary to deliver high-quality care to seniors and individuals with varying levels of need, including those with dementia. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment while ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients.
Duties
* Needed for Northside Edmonton Part time
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and client preferences.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Assist with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure safe transfers.
- Maintain a clean living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and report any significant changes in client condition to nursing staff or family members.
- Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and physical well-being.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client transfers and mobility assistance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Certification in medication administration or willingness to obtain certification is desirable.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
