MSK WorkAssist, a division of Santé Circle Health, is looking for a Registered Physiotherapist to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team. This role involves managing injured workers referred by external sources as part of the WSIB Specialty program as well as various occupational health assessments. The position requires collaboration with third party-funded clients, including WSIB, employers, and insurance professionals, and delivery of tailored services focusing on the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, disability management, prevention, education, and timely return to function.
The Registered Physiotherapist will play a key role in coordinating and enhancing programs to ensure program standards and musculoskeletal health are maintained. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing treatment, using evidence-based modalities, documenting processes, and supporting program development to promote a safe and effective working environment while meeting client, patient and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary clinics and conduct interprofessional assessments and treatments for workers with musculoskeletal disorders.
- Prepare comprehensive initial, follow-up, discharge, and treatment reports, outlining findings, recommendations, and return-to-work planning within specified timelines, ensuring all documentation aligns with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and program standards.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered exercise programs focused on active rehabilitation, individualized work conditioning, injury prevention, and early, safe return-to-work strategies.
- Liaise with referral sources and community providers to discuss patient status and ensure all needs are addressed effectively.
- Work closely with the interdisciplinary team inclusive of orthopedic surgeons and subspecialty physicians to provide and implement evidence-based, outcome-oriented solutions and recommendations for clients and referral sources.
- Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the work environment, including proper upkeep of equipment.
- Adhere to clinic business processes and workflows to ensure operational efficiency.
- Perform administrative duties such as maintaining productivity statistics, ensuring patient and staff safety, and contributing to quality assurance initiatives.
- Provide physiotherapy services at alternate work locations, as required.
Skills:
- Strong proficiency in assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and orthopedic conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for interacting with patients, providers, and referral sources.
- Effective organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based, outcome-oriented solutions.
- Familiarity with third-party insurance processes, including WSIB, and experience in case documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent approved by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
- Demonstrated knowledge of both broad and complex issues related to a wide variety of neurologic, orthopedic pathologies, and workplace injury management
- Substantial clinical experience in assessment and treatment.
- Experience developing and implementing patient-centered exercise programs focused on active rehabilitation, individualized work conditioning, injury prevention, and early, safe return to work strategies.
- Experience working with third-party funded clients, such as WSIB, in supporting injured workers in their recovery and return-to-work journey.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
This position is compensated on an hourly basis. The expected annual earnings for this role is $101,400, based on full-time hours.
