Since 1914, Garage Supply Contracting Inc. has been leading the industry in garage equipment supply, repair, maintenance, engineering & planning. We are a third generation, family-owned business with technicians bringing years of knowledge to facilities across Ontario. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable Millwright to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys helping customers.
The Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to safe work practices while delivering high-quality service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, align, and commission industrial machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Repair and replace bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Dismantle, move, and reassemble machinery using appropriate rigging and lifting equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Measure, fabricate, and fit mechanical components as required.
- Perform equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur.
- Install and service hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Complete welding, cutting, drilling, grinding, and fabrication work when required.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas at customer sites.
- Accurately complete service reports, inspection forms, and time records.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding work completed and recommendations for future repairs.
- Participate in ongoing safety meetings and technical training.
- Travel to customer locations throughout Ontario.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other PPE as required.
- Lift regularly.
- Stand, kneel, crouch, and climb.
- Work at heights.
Qualifications
- Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) (433A) preferred or equivalent experience.
- Valid Class G driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Forklift, aerial lift, and fall protection certifications are assets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical troubleshooting

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
