Debate and Public Speaking Facilitator
Location: Richmond Hill and Newmarket, Ontario

Fearless Voices is looking for engaging and dependable facilitators to lead in-person debate and public speaking programs for children and teens in Richmond Hill and Newmarket.
Fearless Voices helps young people build confidence, communication skills and the courage to express their ideas.
Using our established curriculum and activity materials, facilitators will create a welcoming and encouraging learning environment where participants can practice speaking, develop arguments, participate in respectful debates and receive constructive feedback.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate interactive debate and public speaking classes for children and teens
- Lead icebreakers, speaking exercises, group discussions and debates
- Provide supportive, age-appropriate coaching and feedback
- Prepare for each class using the provided curriculum and materials
- Encourage respectful participation and help learners build confidence
- Communicate any concerns or program updates to the Fearless Voices team
Qualifications
- Previous teaching/facilitation experience is required
- Experience working with children or teens
- Strong public speaking, facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to engage learners with different confidence and skill levels
- Dependable, organized and comfortable managing a classroom
- Ability to travel to and facilitate programs in both Richmond Hill and Newmarket
- Availability to work evenings and weekends and to commit to the full schedule of an assigned program session
Facilitators must also be able to meet all requirements established by the municipalities and program locations. These include First Aid and CPR certification, a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and other required documentation or training.
In-person program sessions are expected to begin in the fall. Successful candidates may also be invited to observe or assist with earlier sessions as part of their training.
This is an ongoing, part-time sessional opportunity. Hours will depend on scheduled programs and are not guaranteed between sessions. Classes are typically scheduled in the evenings and on weekends. Facilitators will be asked to commit to the full duration of each program they agree to lead.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
