Concrete Pump Operator
LOCATION: 8155 92 St Delta, BC V4G 0A4
REPORTS TO: Drivers Supervisor
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Concrete Pump Operator has experience with boom pump machinery, while ensuring that all safety measures and precautions are considered. This is a physically demanding role requiring dexterity and the desire to work outdoors. Reporting to the Drivers Supervisor, the Concrete Pump Operator has excellent mechanical aptitude and an exceptional safety focus.
In this role, the Concrete Pump Operator will work on jobs sites, but will be based out of our Delta or Langley BC locations.
DUTIES & RESPOSIBILITIES
Set up and rig the pump truck.
Drive and operate the pump truck safely.
Maintain equipment by doing daily Pre and Post trip inspections.
Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
Mix, pour and spread materials.
Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades.
Assist heavy equipment operators as required.
Communicate with site personnel, 3rd party service providers and team.
Perform preventative maintenance, and perform general repairs as needed.
Communicate with company mechanics to ensure equipment & truck are maintained in top condition.
Comply with all safety regulations.
Follow all aspects of YAAT policies and procedures.
Have exceptional on time attendance and accountability to daily schedule.
Other duties as required by the business.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with a clean drivers’ abstract is required.
Experience in the concrete industry running line pumps or boom pumps is required. Specific training will be provided.
Solid understanding of concrete pump safety.
Understanding of concrete and mix designs (slump characteristics) is preferred.
Must be mechanically inclined.
Ability to work well with others on a large construction site and conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
Must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from the yard in Delta / Langley.
Ability to work under stress and maintain self-control under stressful circumstances.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job is physically demanding, requiring the individual to be capable of standing, walking, bending, and stooping eight to ten hours a day in all seasons.
This is a full-time, hourly position in an extremely high-paced environment that will require overtime and weekend work.
