Job Description:
Vet for Life Animal Hospital is seeking a friendly, reliable, and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent client service and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Reception & Client Care
- Greet clients and patients warmly and professionally
- Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, emails, and reminders
- Process payments, invoices, estimates, and insurance forms
- Maintain accurate client and patient records
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding appointments, procedures, and follow-up care
Veterinary Assistant Support
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient handling and restraint
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Assist with basic treatments, sample collection, and diagnostics as trained
- Monitor patients and provide comfort and care during visits
- Restock supplies and assist with inventory management
Administrative Duties
- Use practice management software efficiently
- Handle medical records, referrals, and prescription requests
- Follow clinic policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous veterinary clinic or medical reception experience preferred. Holds strong knowledge of veterinary terminologies.
- Animal handling experience is an asset
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable using computers and clinic software
