About the Role
The Business Development & Partnerships Officer is responsible for supporting the organization's fundraising and partnership efforts through donor stewardship, business development, workplace campaigns, grant writing, and community engagement.
Working closely with the Executive Director, you will cultivate relationships with donors, businesses, volunteers, and community partners while helping to grow revenue and expand awareness of United Way's impact across Newfoundland and Labrador.
This position combines relationship-building, fundraising, communications, event support, and project management into one rewarding role.
What We're Looking For
Education
Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in fundraising, communications, business, social sciences, nonprofit management, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
Experience
- At least two years of experience in fundraising, community engagement, donor relations, sales, business development, marketing, or a related field
- Experience building and maintaining professional relationships
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

- Self-motivated and able to work independently

- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Canva
- Experienced with donor databases or eager to learn
Fundraising experience is considered an asset, but we also welcome candidates with transferable experience in sales, business development, marketing, relationship management, customer engagement, or community outreach.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as required for events and activities
- Ability to travel occasionally throughout Newfoundland and Labrador
