Duties
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that best suits their needs, style, and lifestyle, ensuring optimal fit and comfort
- Conduct thorough eye measurements, including pupillary distance and frame fitting to ensure precise prescriptions
- Educate patients on lens options, lens coatings, and proper eyewear maintenance to promote long-term satisfaction
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to support patient care plans, including understanding medical terminology relevant to eye health
- Manage inventory of frames, lenses, and accessories to maintain an organized and efficient workspace
- Utilize electronic health records systems such as Epic to document patient interactions accurately and securely
- Provide specialized assistance for pediatrics and senior care patients, addressing unique vision needs with patience and professionalism
Experience
- Proven optical experience with a strong understanding of eyewear products, fittings, and patient service standards
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye health and vision correction procedures
- Experience working with electronic health record systems like Epic is highly desirable
- Knowledge of pediatric eye care practices and senior care considerations is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to excel in sales while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their options and foster trust in the provider-patient relationship
