Full-Time Position Available (30-35 hours/week)
Our business, Fionavar Kennels, is seeking a reliable dog day care attendant to provide excellent care to dogs staying at our facility for both daycare and boarding. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves dogs and can provide high-quality pet care for our customers while we care for their fur babies. We expect you to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs. You will also help with our Bath ‘n’ Nail service by bathing and/or drying dogs. Prior experience in this field is not required but can be an asset.
Dog Day Care Attendant Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise all play areas to ensure pet safety for both daycare and boarding dogs
- Clean and maintain outdoor yards by picking up waste
- Set up and fill pools for the dogs outside (summer only)
- Handle bathing and blow drying of Bath ‘n’ Nail dogs
- Clean and maintain kennels, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, and ensuring it’s nice and clean for the next dog
- Clean and maintain indoor playrooms by sweeping and mopping when necessary
- Prepare meals and kennels for dogs who are boarding with us
- Do laundry when necessary, towels from baths and dirty blankets
- Perform light receptionist duties, such as answering phones and emails, and taking payments
Dog Day Care Attendant Requirements
- Familiarity with various dog breeds
- Passion for taking care of animals
- Teamwork and communication skills with other staff members
- Communication skills with customers and clients
- Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining kennels and back rooms(sweeping, mopping)
This job is NOT suitable to students planning on returning to school in the fall or teens looking for a part time job.
