This is an independent contractor position.
The footcare nurse provides quality medical footcare to clients in their homes and facilities that is compliant with best practice standards. You will be taking on existing clients as well as building up new clientele. You will see clients within your own availability, as long as all clients are seen on a 6-8 week rotating basis.
Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized nursing duties pertaining to footcare including nail care, ingrown toenails treatment, callus debridement and maintenance, corn removal, and thick nail reduction.
- Document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families on proper footcare, diabetic footcare, offloading devices, and self-care techniques.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in Ontario.
- RN or RPN license.
- CPR certification required.
- Prior experience in footcare is an asset.
- Access to reliable transportation and a license to travel to clients homes.
- Advanced footcare certification or willing to obtain prior to hiring.

Pay is based on completed client appointments. The nurse will receive $28-$42 per client. Step Forward Kingston Inc. will actively seek and book clients that fit within your availability as well as complete proper sterilization of equipment for you. Foot care instruments, a drill, PPE, lotion, and a carrying case/bag will be provided by Step Forward Kingston Inc. This is a subcontractor position where you will be responsible for reporting your income at the end of the year. There are opportunities for growth and further education with this position.
Locations:
Kingston area, from Kingston area to Amherstview. Out of these area, we will pay $10 extra for travel. All parking will be reimbursed with a parking ticket.
All clients in similar geographical location are booked on the same days, so you will not be traveling to all these locations within the same day.
