SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERK

JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of Revelstoke Mountain Resort by ensuring all incoming deliveries, mail, supplies, and equipment are received, organized, and distributed accurately and efficiently. Working closely with multiple resort departments, this position is responsible for maintaining an organized receiving area, coordinating deliveries across the resort, completing scheduled transportation duties, and ensuring all shipping and receiving processes are completed safely and to company standards.

JOB DUTIES
Shipping and Receiving Operations
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
- Identify and report damage, missing, or incorrect shipments to the appropriate department.
- Accurately label, organize and stage deliveries for efficient distribution throughout the resort.
- Maintain accurate receiving records, documentation, and inventory-related information.
- Assist with outgoing shipments, courier pickups, and other shipping requirements as needed.
Distribution and Logistics
- Sort and distribute products, supplies, equipment, and deliveries to the appropriate departments and resort locations.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with department leaders regarding incoming shipments, delivery schedules, and special requests.
Transportation and Scheduled Deliveries
- Complete weekly mail pickup and distribution.
- Complete weekly liquor pickup in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Perform scheduled recycling runs and ensure recyclable materials and waste are properly handled.
- Complete additional transportation or delivery assignments as required.
Loading Bay and Storage Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading dock and receiving area.
- Dispose of cardboard, pallets, packaging materials, and waste appropriately.
- Assist with organizing storage areas to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
- Monitor inventory storage areas for cleanliness and organization.
Health and Safety Standards
- Follow all WorkSafe BC regulations, company safety policies, and safe work practices.
- Use proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment safely.
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, hazards, or incidents promptly.
- Maintain a safe working environment through organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
- Ensure all duties are completed while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others.
General Resort Support
- Provide operational and logistical support to various resort departments as required.
- Assist with seasonal projects, special events, and operational initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / PASSIONS / EDUCATION
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, or a similar role preferred.
- Experience working in a hospitality, resort, food service, or multi-department environment considered an asset.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid British Columbia Driver’s Licence if currently licensed in another jurisdiction.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and inventory or receiving systems.
- WHMIS certification is considered an asset (or willingness to obtain).
