DFH Real Estate Ltd. is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join our growing Property Management Division. This is an opportunity to become a key member of a collaborative team responsible for the financial administration of a residential property management portfolio.

What You'll Do
As our Property Accountant, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of the Property Management Division while ensuring the integrity of financial records and compliance with trust accounting requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full-cycle accounting for a residential property management portfolio.
- Preparing monthly landlord statements and year-end owner reporting.
- Completing monthly bank and trust account reconciliations.
- Preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting audit requirements.
- Administering trust accounting in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Preparing and filing GST, payroll, corporate tax, and non-resident tax remittances and reporting.
- Maintaining property records, landlord agreements, and related documentation.
- Setting up and maintaining properties within the property management software.
- Supporting Property Managers with financial reporting and accounting inquiries.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Experience preparing financial statements and completing account reconciliations.
- Experience with GST remittances, payroll, corporate tax, and non-resident tax reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in property management or real estate accounting.
- Experience with trust accounting.
- Experience using Yardi Breeze or similar property management accounting software.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Working knowledge of British Columbia trust accounting requirements for property management.
