The Compliance & Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing resources and support to enable and ensure field personnel to meet all Qbt Excavating Services ltd, Client and legislative requirements relating to Health and Safety in the workplace.
Primary Duties/ Responsiblities:
- Design and implement improved extensive health and safety program
- Design and implement improved company policies and procedures; Assist with developing and implementing policies, practices and procedures;
- Document and record company health and safety efforts
- Carry out workplaces/jobsite inspections of to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations
- Chair and organize a health and safety committee
- Emergency preparedness and with emergency response;
- Incident/accident reporting and investigations;
- Facilitate training sessions for employees;
- Assist with developing job hazard analysis and project safety plans;
- Assist Ministry of Labour inspectors and receive subsequent reports; Respond to orders issued;
- Enforce Health and safety rules
Secondary Duties:
Help with other administrative tasks in office place such as ; Locates, HR Compliance, Assist with other regulatory programs and systems, Trucking compliance, Equipment and vehicle safety and inspection program, Invoicing and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications Required:
-NCSO Designation (preferred)
- Diploma/Certificate that is Health and Safety related (preferred)
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within the construction field (preferred)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong problem solving skills
- Able to work under pressure with time constraints
- Experience with Quality Assurance an asset
*Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the civil/ utility infrastructure construction sector.
