We are currently recruiting for a Application Support Specialist to join a busy Information Technology Department and has the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Applicants must be detail-oriented with excellent analytic and communication skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join a dynamic team and contribute to the overall success of the Firm. Responsibilities:
- Resolve technical issues related to firm applications and recommend improvements to application support processes
- Research, recommend, and apply technology best practices and industry standards
- Consult with staff and gather feedback from application pilot groups and end users
- Support solution design and delivery by identifying application-related gaps and working with Business Analysts or project teams as needed
- Participate in the development of training programs and materials to educate staff on firm applications
- Conduct and coordinate technical troubleshooting for firm applications to ensure effective and efficient use of software
- Install, test, and support enhancements, patches, and upgrades for firm-supported applications
- Document new software solutions, known issues, and support procedures for use by the Helpdesk team
- Participate in other information technology initiatives and support tasks as required
- Support legal software, document management systems, practice management applications, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise business applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and application access in accordance with firm security policies.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Monitor application performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support integrations between legal applications and other enterprise systems.
- Track incidents, service requests, and problem resolutions using the firm's IT service management platform.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in application support, operational support, programming, systems analysis, or a related environment
- Experience with software support, helpdesk operations, troubleshooting, or programming
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new applications quickly
- Experience with law firm processes would be an asset
- Experience supporting legal applications such as Elite 3E, Aderant, and Litera, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).
- Experience with identity and access management, user provisioning, and permission management.
- Familiarity with SQL, application integrations, APIs, or scripting (PowerShell) is an asset.
- Understanding of ITIL service management principles and incident management processes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
