Job Description

The Aircraft Fueler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient refueling of aircraft, ensuring full compliance with aviation regulations, company procedures, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Aircraft Fueling Operations
- Safely connect and disconnect fuel hoses to aircraft fuel ports using approved procedures and equipment.
- Refuel aircraft using fuel trucks, hydrant systems, or other mechanized fueling equipment.
- Continuously monitor fuel levels and fueling rates during operations to ensure accuracy and prevent overfills.
- Communicate directly with flight crews regarding fueling status, discrepancies, or concerns.
Safety & Compliance
- Observe aircraft and fueling operations to ensure compliance with all safety procedures, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, report, and respond to unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or procedural deviations.
- Immediately report incidents, near misses, fuel spills, or injuries to a supervisor.
- Ensure hose pressure is properly released prior to handling to prevent sudden movement or injury.
Inspections & Housekeeping
- Conduct visual inspections of aircraft fueling areas for damage, leaks, or defects and report findings promptly.
- Clean fuel spills and maintain a safe, orderly work environment using approved spill response materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of fueling equipment and work areas.
Documentation & Recordkeeping
- Accurately record fuel deliveries, fuel usage, and inventory levels in required logs or systems.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Team & Operational Support
- Assist with other ground support or fueling-related activities as operationally required.
- Participate in safety briefings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be of legal working age.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Ability and availability to work shift work, overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and performing repetitive manual tasks in all weather conditions.
- Willing and able to strictly adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and other required protective equipment.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and obtain/maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
- Previous experience in aviation, fueling, or safety-sensitive roles is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and strong safety awareness.
Work Environment
- Outdoor airport ramp environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Safety-sensitive role requiring constant situational awareness.
- Physically demanding work involving lifting, climbing, bending, and prolonged standing.
