Position Summary
The Tap Room Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the tap room, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while leading and developing the front-of-house team. This role combines hospitality leadership with operational support, including light administrative duties, event coordination, and basic audio/visual setup for brewery events.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building community, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Create an exceptional and welcoming experience for every guest.
- Ensure the tap room maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Promote brewery products, merchandise, and events.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and schedule tap room staff.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented workplace culture.
- Conduct regular staff meetings.
- Ensure all team members follow company policies and responsible beverage service practices.
Operations
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures.
- Manage cash handling, deposits, and daily sales reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory of merchandise, glassware, and supplies.
- Coordinate ordering of tap room supplies as required.
- Maintain compliance with WorkSafeBC, health regulations, and liquor licensing requirements.
Administrative Support
- Perform light data entry, including entering supplier invoices and maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with organizing and filing operational documents.
Events & Community Engagement
- Assist in planning and executing brewery events.
- Provide basic audio/visual support during events, including setup and operation of microphones, speakers, projectors, TVs, and presentation equipment.
- Help ensure events run smoothly while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Sales & Business Development
- Support promotional initiatives and seasonal campaigns.
- Monitor tap room performance and identify opportunities to improve sales and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with local partnerships and community engagement initiatives.
