Core Objectives

Detailing vehicles

Cleaning vehicles and all related functions:
Cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles, performing any combination of the following duties.
Washes vehicle exterior to clean cars, using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.
Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surfaces to protect surfaces and preserve shine, using cloth or buffing machine.
Vacuums interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner and compressed air.
Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
Applies revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces, and treats.
Cleans engine and engine compartment with cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and grime.
Applies deodorizers and or antimicrobial agents.
Restores headlights with buffing tools and applies protective coatings.
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is a bonafide occupational requirement of the role.

Car Wash Attendant

Clean bays
Empty garbage
Sweep lot / pickup garbage on the lot
Fill vending machines
Empty vacuum cleaners
Always be visible to customers unless your duties take you elsewhere on-site
Check soap boxes and change any if required
Check the softener salt tank and fill when necessary
Cut the grass
Shovel snow from the vacuum area and concrete apron whenever needed
Use the snowblower after a plow to clear snow back to the curbs
Shovel dirt from carwash bay pits
Make minor repairs to guns, hoses, and brushes in the bays
Make the carwash manager aware of any equipment malfunctions as soon as they are discovered

Customer Service

Providing all the functions involved in customer service. For the most part, this will be on a secondary basis. Customer functions include:

Answering incoming calls in a pleasant and helpful manner

Booking customers appointments
Informing customers as to the status and/or completion of their vehicle detailing.
Suggesting alternative à la carte services or packages when applicable.
Reviewing, checking customer history and suggesting alternatives.
Searching for ways to add value to customers and provide service excellence.
Following up on customer inquiries in a very timely fashion with complete concise information.
Continually building your knowledge of new and old products.
Routing incoming calls and delivering messages when needed.
Greeting visitors quickly and pleasantly.
Cashing out clients as required.
Completing nightly credit card submission to Moneris (or credit card company) and POS end of day functions.

Secondary Objectives

Keeping the detail bays cleaned and organized.
Keep the shed and the equipment room neat and free of garbage.
Notifying the manager in a timely manner when products are getting low and need to be reordered.
Ensuring that the cleaning cloths are washed and dried (wax cloths kept separate during these processes) and that there are plenty of clean cloths for the following day.
Assist car wash customers as required.
Perform cleaning activities in the car wash and lounge as required.
Clean carwash bays
Empty garbage
Sweep lot / pickup garbage on the lot
Promote the Detail Centre by talking to customers and handing out flyers
Promote the RHCW App by explaining to customers how they can earn rewards
All other projects are required.

Expectations

To be competent with all aspects of Detailing Vehicles & Car Wash Attendant duties.
To be competent with all aspects of Customer Service.
To answer all calls with a pleasant and friendly manner and to route them efficiently with very little assistance.
To keep up-to-date daily on all credit card processing.
To be fully competent in using the POS system. This includes but not limited to cashing out clients, signing in and out to log your hours, logging the vehicle jobs you completed, nightly credit card submissions and closing duties.
To ensure that cabinet in the detail bay is locked up when not in the detail bay. As well, when last to leave the building, that the cash drawer and all cabinets are locked up and the alarm is armed.
To complete all other projects in an accurate and efficient manner.
