Front of House Team Member (Ice Cream Shop)
A brand-new ice cream shop is opening just steps from Kits Beach this August, and we're looking for enthusiastic Front of House Team Members to join our opening team.
We're creating a fun, welcoming neighbourhood spot where locals, beachgoers, families, and visitors come together to enjoy great ice cream and soak up the summer atmosphere. Expect busy evenings, packed weekends, beach crowds, great music, incredible sunsets, lots of regulars, and a team that loves creating memorable experiences for every guest.
Start Date: Early August (training and store setup)

Compensation & Benefits
- $18.50-$19.50 per hour, based on experience
- Tips
- Full-Time: Approximately 35 hours per week
- Part-Time: Approximately 15-25 hours per week

About the Role
As a Front of House Team Member, you'll be the face of the shop and play an important role in creating a fun, welcoming experience for every guest.
From serving perfect scoops of hard scoop ice cream and soft serve to creating beautiful sundaes, greeting guests, operating the till, and keeping the shop clean and organized, every shift is different. Our busiest times are evenings, weekends, holidays, and sunny beach days, so we're looking for people who enjoy the energy of a busy, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest with friendly, genuine customer service.
- Scoop and serve hard scoop ice cream and soft serve while maintaining consistent portions and presentation.
- Prepare sundaes and other menu items to company standards.
- Operate the point-of-sale system and process payments accurately.
- Restock products and supplies throughout the day.
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and ready for service.
- Follow food safety and cleanliness standards.
- Work together with teammates to keep service fast, efficient, and fun.
- Help create the positive atmosphere that makes guests want to come back.
Experience & Qualifications
We're looking for people with previous customer service experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Required:
- Previous experience in hospitality, food service, cafés, restaurants, or an ice cream shop.
- Weekend and evening availability is required.
- Friendly, outgoing, and confident interacting with guests.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Willingness to learn and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- FoodSafe Level 1 certification is an asset.
