POSITION SUMMARY:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Healing Lodge is seeking reliable and hardworking Kitchen Support to assist with food preparation,
cooking, and meal service operations. In this role, you will support the kitchen team in providing nutritious,
culturally respectful meals that support client health and wellness. Your contributions ensure that mealtimes
become moments of nourishment, connection, and cultural celebration in service of the healing mission.
Formal work hours include daytime and evening shifts, with flexible scheduling responsive to facility meal
service needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, mixing, and organization of ingredients.
- Support meal preparation under the direction of the Sous Chef, learning cooking techniques and food safety
practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen spaces, equipment, and storage areas.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, maintaining high sanitation standards.
- Assist with serving meals in a welcoming, respectful manner.
- Assist with inventory management, noting supplies and ingredients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen safety practices.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Education and Experience:
- Valid standard First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Food Handler certification or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
Other:
- Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, and some weekend shifts.
- Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check acceptable to the Healing Lodge.
- Requires general knowledge of the Siksika Nation culture and some ability to communicate in the Siksika language.
