Position Summary
The Restaurant Supervisor plays a key leadership role in the daily operations of Cabin & Babbo. Reporting to the Director of Outlets, this hands-on position is responsible for supporting restaurant operations while leading and motivating the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring Hockley Valley Resort's service standards, policies, and procedures are consistently maintained. This position assists with staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, and labour management while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment focused on excellence in hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of Cabin & Babbo during assigned shifts.
- Lead by example by providing exceptional guest service and creating memorable dining experiences.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve high standards of service and professionalism.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees while supporting ongoing development of existing staff.
- Ensure company policies, service standards, and operating procedures are consistently followed.
- Monitor staffing levels and provide scheduling recommendations to support operational needs and labour cost targets.
- Assist with shift planning, opening and closing procedures, and daily operational readiness.
- Address guest concerns professionally and resolve service issues in a timely manner.
- Perform cash handling, balancing, and end-of-day cash reconciliation.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the restaurant to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, health and safety, and company policies.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Support the Director of Outlets with other operational duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years of restaurant or hospitality experience.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and guest service standards.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, positive, and guest-focused attitude.
- Experience with cash handling and cash reconciliation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
