Sales Director
Empire Living Centre — North Bay, Ontario
Empire Living Centre is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Sales Director to lead our sales efforts and help more seniors and families discover everything our community has to offer.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional who is motivated by results but understands that choosing a retirement residence is also a deeply personal decision. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships, guide prospective residents and families through the decision-making process and take ownership of the sales activities required to achieve and maintain strong occupancy.
Working closely with the leadership team and Experience and Engagement Coordinator, the Sales Director will manage the complete sales process—from the initial inquiry through to the resident’s move-in.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to inquiries and develop a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Build relationships with prospective residents and families through thoughtful and consistent follow-up.
- Conduct engaging, personalized visits of the Empire.
- Convert inquiries and visits into deposits and move-ins.
- Develop relationships with hospitals, health-care professionals, community organizations and other referral partners.
- Represent the Empire at networking, community and sales events.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase inquiries and occupancy.
- Work with the Experience and Engagement Coordinator on events, social media and community initiatives that support sales goals.
- Maintain accurate prospect information and sales activity in the Empire’s sales system.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, pricing and promotional opportunities.
- Track and report on inquiries, tours, conversions, move-ins and projected occupancy.
- Coordinate with the leadership team to support a smooth and welcoming move-in experience.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in sales, business, marketing, communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years of successful sales, business development or relationship-management experience.
- A proven ability to achieve sales, occupancy or revenue targets.
- Experience in retirement living, seniors’ housing, health care, hospitality, real estate or another relationship-based service industry is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, networking and relationship-building skills.
- A warm, professional and consultative approach to sales.
- Self-motivated, organized, persistent and accountable for results.
- Strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages of the sales process.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using a customer relationship management or sales-tracking system.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation.
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend tours or events.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced sales professional who enjoys meeting people, developing relationships and turning opportunities into results. You understand that successful retirement-living sales require patience, empathy, creativity and excellent follow-through. You are comfortable taking responsibility for occupancy goals, developing new referral opportunities and being a visible ambassador for the Empire throughout the community.
Most importantly, you genuinely enjoy working with seniors and families and want to help them feel informed, welcomed and confident in choosing their next home.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a résumé and cover letter outlining their relevant experience and demonstrated sales success to Darla Bates, Executive Director [email protected].
