The Account Manager, Education Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth and ensuring operational excellence across Merrithew’s education business within the assigned territories. This role plays a critical part in expanding the company’s education footprint by developing new business opportunities, strengthening partnerships with current partners, and maximizing the performance of existing accounts.
Acting as both a strategic partner and a primary point of contact, the Account Manager supports clients throughout the full lifecycle of education delivery: from business development and course planning to execution and ongoing account management. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Education Product, to optimize instructor trainer resources, align market strategies, and deliver a seamless client experience.
In addition to sales and relationship management, the Account Manager ensures efficient coordination of operational processes, including course scheduling, instructor trainer deployment, and client communications. This position is well-suited for a highly organized, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and is passionate about building long-term partnerships while driving sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Growth:

Identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities by increasing education training frequency, diversifying programs, and driving equipment sales through educational initiatives.

Meet annual sales targets by converting education sales leads, including tradeshow contacts, referrals, and training records, into new host centres.

Develop and execute territorial-based sales growth strategies, collaborating with commercial sales teams, resellers, and distributors to boost sales in designated regions.

Work closely with the Sales and Education Product and Instructor Trainer(IT) team to optimize IT resources across regions and maintain strong relationships for successful hosting.

Manage recurring sales at existingTraining Centres by increasing training (course, workshop and exam…etc.) frequency and ensuring smooth coordination of IT resources across multiple territories.

Conduct market research to identify potential new leads, new training centres, and areas for expansion, converting them into long-term partnerships.
Customer Service & Account Management:

Act as the primary consultant and support for Training Partners, guiding them through processes and policies to ensure success in Merrithew’s education offerings.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with new and existing Partners, correcting non-compliance issues and supporting their growth through tailored educational solutions.

Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams to support marketing initiatives and promote Merrithew education within the region, aligning with business growth plans.

Support the development of departmental processes to improve cross-functional efficiency, ensuring consistent delivery of service and smooth hosting operations.

Assist with the translations where necessary as required to support international or non-English speaking clients.
Operational Support & Instructor Trainer (IT) Coordination:

Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, ensuring seamless communication on account needs, updates, and requests.

Coordinate IT assignments and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and meeting client expectations within project timelines.

Plan and adjust course schedules, ensuring they align with client requirements and internal goals.

Manage general inquiries, client communications, and act as the go-to person for education, program offerings, and instructor paths.

Organize travel logistics for IT personnel, coordinating trips in alignment with project timelines and resource needs.

Prepare internal meeting notes, ensuring clear communication of updates and requirements during discussions.

Maintain internal trackers for project data, ensuring accurate reporting and cross-referencing to support business planning and decision-making.
Administrative & Financial Management:

Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of agreements (with ITs, and with Partners), ensuring compliance with client requirements and organizational standards.

Process orders related to hosting, exams, and educational materials, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.

Coordinate the generation of student lists and completion letters, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.

Manage the exam process, overseeing execution and ensuring compliance with client requirements.

Ensure payments related to client accounts are applied accurately and promptly, maintaining organized financial records.

Conduct market research on industry trends and competitor activities to provide insights that enhance business strategy.
Skills and Qualifications:

3 - 5+ years of sales and account management experience selling business solutions.

English and Chinese bi-lingual is a must
-
Bachelor’s degree with business-related studies.

Previous experience as an account manager in an international setting, esp. experience with Greater China is an asset.

Experience interacting with customers in a sales environment that involves email selling, social media prospecting, trade show interaction, demand creation and/or account management
