Industrial Cleaner

GENERAL DUTIES:
To perform a wide range of general and detailed plant cleaning work at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station (HTGS). Is required to perform Type 1 and limited Type II asbestos abatement and removal in accordance with the plant Asbestos Management Plan and Provincial/OHS Regulations. Required to operate mobile equipment such as sky jacks and similar lift/access equipment, within the context of plant cleaning. Required to work at heights and in confined spaces. All other duties related to or associated with this classification.
Responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduation. Experience with and/or the completion of supplementary course work related to asbestos abatement. Training in fall protection, respirator use and fit testing, WHMIS and Confined Space Entry would be considered an asset. Experience in the operation of lift equipment and floor scrubbers preferred. Must be able to use a half face respirator. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. Must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
