Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time (or Full-Time) Bookkeeper and play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records that drive our business forward! This role offers the opportunity to work flexible hours while utilizing your expertise in accounting and bookkeeping. You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the integrity of our financial data. We're looking for someone with 10+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, ideally with a track record of building out and strengthening financial controls and processes, and who is comfortable assisting management directly on those initiatives. Duties
- Record and categorize financial transactions using accounting and business software such as QuickBooks Online, Shopify, and HubSpot
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
- Perform bank reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial data against bank statements
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting tasks
- Prepare detailed reports on account balances and financials for review
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all records are complete and accurate
- Build out and strengthen financial controls and processes, assisting management directly on these initiatives
Skills
- 10+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Experience working with CPG (consumer packaged goods) companies and/or inventory-based accounting is a strong asset
- Demonstrated experience building out and improving financial controls, ideally partnering directly with management
- Proficiency with accounting and business software including QuickBooks Online, Shopify, and HubSpot
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including accounts payable, receivable, and account reconciliation
- Experience with payroll processing and related compliance requirements
- Knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures and account analysis techniques
- Ability to perform budgeting tasks and financial reporting with attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Clear communication skills to collaborate with team members and external vendors
