ALL IN: The 2025-2029 Lambton College Strategic Plan
Specific Accountabilities:
- Facilitates delivery of refrigeration labs in the HVAC program
- Provides demonstration of all lab equipment and techniques to enhance student learning
- Ensure preparation of lab supplies and equipment based on lab requirements
- Serves as a resource person for faculty and students in any matters relating to the operational aspects of the lab and advises if students encounter difficulties
- Documents safety, accident and other incidents according to established reporting protocols
- Performs related duties as assigned
About the Position:
This is a regular part-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Interim Dean, Faculty of Applied Science, Engineering, Technology & Trades at a rate of $37.14 This is a less than 12 month position – the incumbent will work September through Dec (Fall term) and January through May (Winter term)
This position is responsible for the facilitation of the refrigeration labs in the HVAC program. Incumbent ensures that all safety and lab procedures are followed and provides technical advice or demonstration when students need help understanding complex lab procedures. Incumbent works with program faculty and coordinator to ensure that labs are delivered and completed in pace with student academic learning. The incumbent will communicate with the students regarding lab progress and expectations and communicate student progress with program faculty to ensure learning outcomes have been met.
Incumbent provides a demonstration of all lab equipment and processes to ensure that students execute their labs successfully, use equipment safely and effectively, and monitors students as they perform labs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of current and valid certificate of qualification for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic 313A
- Up to 5 years’ experience working with refrigeration equipment
