Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated, detail-oriented, and proactive Support Staff members to join our venue team for event setups, logistics, and teardowns. This role is essential in bringing our events to life by transforming our grounds and indoor spaces to match exact layouts, as well as ensuring the venue is reset and spotless following event conclusions. The Support Staff will be responsible for setting up furniture, arranging decor, executing weather contingency plans, and handling post-event cleanup. Shifts typically run across Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in dynamic, active environments, take pride in clean presentation, and love working as part of a team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Setup & Layout Execution: Review layout plans to accurately position tables, chairs, and lounge seating across indoor and outdoor spaces. Place linens, adjust patio umbrellas, and style furniture with cushions and accent pillows (ensuring tags/labels are tucked out of sight).
- Weather Plan Adaptation: Swiftly pivot and execute inclement weather plans when needed—such as setting up rain-plan ceremony seating (measuring aisles and arranging precise row counts) over the dance floor.
- Post-Event Cleanup & Teardown: Pack away furniture, linens, cushions, and venue decor following event conclusions; clear debris, empty trash receptacles, and reset spaces so the grounds and interior are clean and organized.
- Overnight & Storage Prep: Safely store outdoor soft furnishings (like poufs and cushions) and secure equipment at the end of shifts or overnight.
- Grounds & Space Care: Maintain clean, orderly work areas throughout setup and teardown shifts, ensuring all venue inventory is handled with care.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure all setup and cleanup tasks are completed efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Availability: Must be available to work weekend shifts (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or Mondays), including setup mornings and late-evening or morning-after teardowns.
- Previous experience in event setup/teardown, hospitality, venue operations, or customer service is preferred, but a strong work ethic and keen eye for detail are most important!
- Keen Eye for Detail: High attention to detail regarding alignment, symmetry, and neat presentation (e.g., straight chair lines, hidden labels, smooth linens, clean floors).
- Physical Capability: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move venue furniture/equipment safely throughout setup and cleanup shifts.
- Adaptability: Ability to stay organized and calm while executing last-minute plan adjustments or quick turnarounds.
- Reliability & Punctuality: Punctual and reliable for scheduled setup and cleanup windows, with a strong sense of accountability.
- Team Player: A positive, proactive attitude with excellent communication skills and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
