We’re seeking an experienced carpenter eager to collaborate on renovation and restoration projects aligned with our clients’ goals. The successful candidate who joins our team will possess a positive attitude, be customer service-oriented, hardworking, punctual, dependable, and self-motivated.
Job Description
In this role, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Travelling to job sites throughout Simcoe County with own vehicle and tools.
· Ability to adhere to the company’s safety policies
· Complete work on schedule
· Keeping the job site clean
· Working safely in hot and cold weather, willing to work in varying weather conditions
· Ability to lift to 50 pounds
· Demolition
· Layout of foundations, building lines, and anchor bolts
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or sketches
· Unload materials from trucks
· Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, then distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications.
· Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures with guidance
· Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed with guidance
· Ability to climb ladders, crawl, lift, and manipulate materials
· Working at heights
· Ability and experience using hand power tools and woodworking machinery such as table saws, band saws, trim saws, circular saws, sanders, joiners, and nail guns in a safe and effective manner
· Framing
· Cut timber and lumber to specified dimensions
· Installation of wood siding
· Installation of windows and doors
· Cut and install insulation and vapor barrier
· Installation of drywall
· Smooth and sand surfaces
· Cabinet assembly and installation.
· Fitting and installing hardware such as door knobs and cabinetry handles
· Finish trim for the interior and exterior of homes
· Complete online timesheets daily
Experience/Skills:
· Attention to detail
· Professionally present yourself in customers' homes
- Highly efficient with material usage
- Able to envision all steps in assigned tasks
- Able to organize assigned tasks for completion alone or with help
- Able to work independently when required
- Adept at establishing relationships with all parties involved in the construction process that facilitate harmonious working environments during the project, and permit prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they occur.
- Knowledge of residential construction principles and the Ontario Building Code
Requirements:
- Carpentry experience - 5 years minimum
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Valid G License
- Own transportation to jobsites throughout Simcoe County
- Must have steel-toed safety boots and a hard hat
- Must have own personal carpentry tools
Salary: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00 am-4:30 pm)
Benefits: Extended Health Care and LTD benefits available after probation period
Required Education: High school or equivalent
Work Location: In-person throughout Simcoe County (occasionally beyond Simcoe County)
